I agree with this post....however, I would buy a 1911 .45ACp and a .22lr conversion kit (since money isn't an issue). The .22lr kit will give you plenty of cheap (ammo) plinking time and the .45ACP will be waiting for you when you graduate to the big bore.
Best thing is you will already be familiar with the pistol.....
Good point for sure !
I'm not real sure that I will ever graduate to a 45 though . Years ago , I shot pistols often and found that the .357 and 9mm were my preferences . At this point ( much older and with sketchy wrist strength ) I am not sure just how far I will go in calibre in the future .
Also , it's not that money is not any issue , lol . I'm not that well off . What I meant in my OP was that I'd already seen the prices of the three .22s I was considering and knew I wasn't too worried about which one of those I got , financially speaking .
Sooooo , I went and got my hands on all three . They all feel good , but I went with the....Browning . It feels right in my hand and is a quality build . Bought it and will be picking it up in early September .
Didn't get to handle the colt yet , but as soon as I'm somewhere that has one in stock I will .
I suspect that , like my rifles , I'm going to have trouble not buying many pistols as cash allows . The buckmark looked pretty nice to me as well , and the ruger 357 revolver .....yummy .
Yup , this is going to be fun !
Thank you all for the guidance . That's why I love CGN .
