is it worth it? i dont know...... it is the only rifle in the Ar family i own and it finishes my canadian collection i never thought id see the day when i would own a Diemaco/Colt Canada rifle and im quite happy ....i have the C8 version i have owned many Ar's over the years and they all shoot well ...if you dont like the price dont buy it ..simple ..yep its a shame that it wasnt as cheap as a norc or DD or KAC but we all have our own reasons to own what we like ...

I got a BCM C8 SFW (HBFT) upper before the CC ones came up for sale for under $700. I mated it to a Dlask lower with CDN HBFT markings for about $400 and it works just fine, just as good as any C8 I was issued.

I would like to buy a C7, but I won't until the price falls in line with other quality Mfrs like Colt and BCM that are already sold here.

You can't argue ones personal reasons for purchase and this thread isn't about person choice. Comparing the tech specs of the cc rifle to others, the value doesn't validate the retail price.

There processes are several steps ahead of other companies out there, the best I can say is they will last longer and hold there zero for significantly longer than most manufactures out there . Though for the price you can always just buy a Second DD barrel or something on those lines. If it was the only AR I could buy or carry it certainly would be a deciding factor with that barrel it comes with.

the "Dirty 14" which BCM used as a demo of their longevity, which shoots with serviceable accuracy at over 30,000 rds has a STD barrel. Would be nice to see a BFH - same model, same round count, as a comparison, but again, Dirty 14 did fine.

Hi all,

The C8 and C7s have been in the civilian market for a few weeks now, just curious as to anyone shot it yet and how does it feel? They are priced at over 2K and was wondering what exactly makes them so expensive? To my knowledge they are double chrome barrel-ed which equals to longer barrel life....anything else? (accuracy, reliability, etc.) I have the DA556 right now from CanAm and they shoot just fine and aesthetically pleasing xD. Is the C8 really worth the 2k or am I better off getting a Daniel Defence or something? (which has free floating barrels).

Thanks!

it has a decent barrel, mediocre stock, basic flip up irons, no fancy for end, and a garbage trigger for the price of a low end competition gun. i find Zero good value in it other than it says "Made in Canada" on the side. and thats not worth $1300 to me.

OP - what are you hoping to gain but switching to a "better rifle" regardless of brand?

I have an SA20 and I like it. No issues with reliability and decent AR accuracy (1.5 MOA with hand loads). Honestly, I wanted a great quality Canadian made rifle so I went that route. It satisfies my requirements but cost wise it was a stretch for me. I'm not magically seeing any kind of improvement in my accuracy or competition scores as a result so it was not a practical purchase from that point....but why always be practical :)

Exactly. I recently bought a Diemaco 30th Anniversary Limited Edition SA15.7 carbine, but haven't had the opportunity yet to fire it. That being said, I was okay with the price and, yes, a big selling point for me was that big, old Canadian maple leaf stamped on it and the fact it's an excellent quality firearm made in Canada. That appealed to me, but to each their own.

Buy what works for you and your game, and your budget, and your fondle factor, and your KOOL factor, and your budget! Buy whatever while we still can! :D

At the end of the day, it's gotta work for YOU and only you! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention buy lots of ammo and get out shooting! :nest:

cheers and keep helping them noobies...

Does anyone know how limited these actually are?

Only two reasons why I will buy a C7
- They reduce the price
-They take AR's with the non-restricted barrel length off the restricted list.

Yo strait up dis be da illest M4 on da market. Aint no betta cuz dis da real army gun. All dem other guns is fake even if dey be more chedda. $2400 aint no thang if u be on yo grind

Wow that's some old video! Don't want to hijack anyone's thread.

There are actually 490 of each limited edition produced. There were ten of each made for internal use.

I'm at NSCC this week. Expect to see a few announcements this week starting with tonight at NSCC.

I'm working on parts kits and some other fun stuff, but that may take a while.

Youtube legend finally graces CGN with his presence!

Matt : please share the scoops! Build kits please!
