Well, I'm a Saskatchewan hunter so I've used mine for Whitetails, Mule deer, Pronghorns, coyotes, crows, and other assorted smallish critters at longish distances. Works perfectly for that application. I have been tempted to use it for elk, but have not. That it would kill black bears efficiently I have no doubt. I have mostly used it on big game with Rem 120 PSP and Nosler partitions at 117 -120 grains, and a few 100 grain Nosler ballistic tips. The 100 gr. Bt's at 3200 fps are bombs in this cartridge. Tear coyotes in half. Make craters in whitetails. For things I eat or if I want to use the fur, I prefer stouter and heavier bullets. 87 grain bullets are really good for ruining a varmint's day waaay out there. My 25-06 is a Sako Finnbear AV. I'd say it's accurate, well made, and deadly. Like your Ruger.
