And to the OP, since some of us here do have budgets, i wondered the same thig before getting in 1911s
It came down to shoot 300/400 rounds a week of 9 and/or 40, or 150/180 rounds a week with 45ACP.
I rather shoot something of less power and have appropriate training time. But hey, some here shoot thiusands of 45 per week or so it seems, your budgets your choices.
I have 2 STIs, one in 9mm and one in 40SW, i have no regrets whatsoever!
Edit : BcRider, i load 200gr bullets in 40SW casings, to make power factor its still snappy, nothing like a 45
Shooting is dam cheap if i compare to a certain part of my life when i was partying alot and another thing, everything that fall in the sand or the mud, i would not reload in my Dillon, when i get them from the table, i keep them for future reloads... JP.
Don't you clean your cases before reloading?
Sand is very sneaky, it hurt everything, even with a thorough cleaning, i had a bad experience with a set of dye i ruin because of sand... JP.
