Caught a Tavor Fever... "Official Tavor Picture Thread"

Same. I ordered them as soon as I could, my elcan sat just low enough that proper cheek weld, field of view, and keeping my ear pro on all at the same time could become a balancing act of pic 2 out of the 3. Now I can have all 3!

My only concern now is that I am adding more height to an already large height over bore ratio. I wonder how far off the ballistics reticle on the Elcan Specter DR is considering it was calibrated for an ordinary AR height over bore. Now I have added another 3/8" or so over the factory Tavor rail.

This is what concerns me as well as I would not want to spend 1.5-2k on an optic only to find out I need an additional 200 dollar rail to make it work on my rifle (especially not a precision rifle). But I guess it will be upto me when I get the optic on the rifle (whenever that will be). Is it difficult to take off the rail?

2 hex screws.

Well then I guess it would be easy to take off lol.

2 more sleeps and my tavor arrives....In the meantime I get my fix on this thread. Amazes me on how much some of you guys spend on glass for these...nice optics.

If I had to choose I'd rather spend big money on optics than on the rifle. Once you look through quality glass you really can't go backwards and you can always take the glass off and put it on the next rifle.

This. I never knew the definition of quality glass or the difference it makes until I recieved my Specter DR.

I love my Specter DR but you really notice the quality difference once you go higher magnification.
I was out with a buddy last summer and we were shooting right till late in the evening and when looking through the Specter DR you could actually see better in low light than than you could without the optic.
Wait till you shoot my DTA with the NF 5.5-22x56 or my 308 with the Sightron SIII.

I finally attained what I feel is the perfect setup for me with this rig.
Everyone keeps telling me I have to go with an Elcan... After trying to learn to like low power variable optics , I've just come to accept that they really aren't for me.
This Trijicon TA33H at 3x is at my perfect sweet spot for low power magnification. Eye relief is superb and find it extremely easy to use up close with both eyes open and it still allows me to reach out with accuracy.
I'm also loving the Midwest xl handguard ! It's put my surefire scout up front and out of the way and no longer casts any shadow due to the barrel. It's also allows me to place the tape switch just right.
On the muzzle is the PWS FSC 556 , kinda the Jack of all trades when it comes to muzzle devices. I find it does a good job.

Maybe a dumb question, but why not integrate the light into the MWI forened? I thought it specifically allowed for that.

Other than that, colour me green with envy!

I wasn't sure which light to run on it. I've to love the inforce wml and tend to want one on everything but after trying the scout light , I found it worked best for me on this riffle. Perhaps I will move it into an integrated for end mount eventually but it works very well as it sits. I'm really enjoying being able to place my hand further up towards the front. Allows me better muzzle control.

I really like that camo and fore end. Waiting for mine to come In. Just curious is that plasti diped? Haven't seen a camo tavor and looks unique. Was thinking of getting mine done.

Liquid Customs from Red Deer AB.

I believe he said it cost $275 + shipping and handling. Iam trying to decide what I should do for a pattern. I have been scheming what to do since before Beniw765 did his. I am still thinking multicam just because of how well it works everywhere in all seasons... well maybe not as well in winter unless in some trees. Haha

At what range are you guys zeroing your Tavor's? Im assuming for the Elcan Spectre it would be at 100? Im not sure at what range I should zero the aimpoint t1 at currently.
