...and there is no such thing as too much gun..
Now there we have a true statement !!
...and there is no such thing as too much gun..
I just cut up today a med sized bull moose shot with a 200gr Hornady FTX from a 358Winchester. Range was a tad over 200yds. Moose was hit in the ribs bullet travelling to the opposite side hind and did not exit. Very little meat damage overall. Bullet weighed 167grs.I've read that the faster lighter bullets can do more destruction than the bigger slow bullets. (nice and slow is good for more than bullets)

Okay, this is killing me! What rifle did you buy in 358 win? I love that cartridge and have a Ruger M77 Hawkeye coming to me very soon I hope. However I will only be able to drool on it for the next few years as my oldest boy is now an apprentice hunter and once he can buy his own tag the youngest boy will be an apprentice so I will be an observer on their hunts. They have their own rifles inherited from the their grandpas so I won't even be able to watch them take down some game with the 358. Maybe I will make it my coyote gun!
If you were referring to moi (as the OP), its a Browning Lightweight '81 model. I bought it to hunt moose this year using 225 gr and 250 gr Nosler Partitions.
Hunt fell through though so I bought some Hornady 200 gr Interlocks and plan to use them on deer.
