I was just poking around on the EGW website and saw that they offer their Savage rimfire rails in either 0 or 20 MOA versions. Out of curiosity, what are the uses of the 20 MOA rail for a .22?

I've got one on my MkII TR. I guess it helps when I shoot it out to 200yds, but I think my scope still has plenty of adjustment left.

OP, you must only shoot 100yds or less, otherwise you wouldnt have asked the question.
Plus Savages can shoot/group that far unlike most 10/22s!

Even shooting at 100m, the forward slope of an moa rail will keep the reticle within the optimum adjustment range of the scope eg RF rifle silhouette

In my experience, these are rough MOA come-ups required for the 22 lr.

50yd-100yd = 5.5 MOA
50yd-200yd = 23 MOA
50yd-300yd = 45 MOA

If you start with a centered 60 MOA scope, you theoretically only have 30 MOA up adjustment. If you cant it 20 MOA, you can still shoot 50 yds, and also reach to 300 yd.

I`m really interested in long range 22, so my target gun has a Nightforce scope with something like 90 MOA adjustment, and it`s sitting on a 30 MOA cant integral rail Dlask receiver.

I've got an EGW 20moa rail, and Burris Z rings with 10 moa inserts, on my Savage. I'm using a 6500 4.5-30, zeroed at 50 and I can use crosshairs on anything 40gr can reach.
