I recently got my Beretta CX4 Storm and wanted a flashlight on it but did not want to spend big dollars on one nor did I want something that is bulky and heavy. It had to meet the following criteria:
-It had to be water resistant
-Use batteries that can be easily acquired such as AA and AAA
-Be light and compact
-Have a 1" diameter for mounting inside a scope ring
-Not add a lot of weight
-Be an efficient LED type bulb
-Be very bright
-Be built out of aluminum and be strong
I found these small Ultrafire flashlights on Amazon for under $4.00. They are lightweight aluminum, water resistant, have a 300 lumen Cree LED, they zoom in, and they are powered by a AA battery. Perfect but the price looked too good to be true so I thought that this was going to be a total piece of junk, but for 4 bux I figured it was worth a shot. After what felt like a decade for shipping (since its free) they finally came in. Wow what a deal! Let me tell you guys, these are not cheaply built at all. So far I am very impressed with them. The only downside is that the section that is 1" in diameter is not very long (around 3/4") so you will need a thin scope ring.
I mounted it to an cheap aluminum scope ring I had laying around and mounted the ring to the left side of the rifle. It is very easy to click the button on and off as it is within reach of my thumb. I took some pics to give you guys a clearer idea of exactly what to expect. The section forward of the ring slides forwards and backwards for your zoom. These can easily zoom in to 50 yards.
