MDT LSS Builds - Post Em if ya got em!!

I talked to MDT a few months ago when they first released the LSS Chassis. I did ask them about optimal barrel length and they are recommending 20" to 22" as optimal.

I've heard they are releasing an LSS chassis with a longer fore end to accommodate longer barrels.

Are you teasing us with this stmt. i have been wanting and asking for the longer forend. can people corroborate this stmt?

I like the look of the extended forend, what are the chances that you can buy this without that giant rail on the top?(when they release for to the public) They appear to be separate.

Hey juan, want to throw one of those up on the EE for me? lol, I guess I will have to wait and see when MDT releases it. I have seen it on another forum as well, did a double take.

I'm interested in getting one of these MDT Chassis. I reload, and I'm curious about how long I can pack my bullets in the mags. Are they to Sammi Specs?

My goodness that rail is way too high. Why jack up the line of sight soooooo far above the bore line. Feels very frankenstein to me.

My first choice would be the custom action with integrated rails. Second would be a simple low weight rails that is as low as possible. I have no desire for suh a towering abomination.

I have one with the long forend. Not done yet though. Couple unique features, long forend, adjustable grip, xlr buttstock. Few more parts to put on and paint the bbl. Got a barricade stop for under the forend and a couple rails to add. Shown with a 29 inch bbl which will be cut down and a brake added later. Unsure on what length, 24 or 26 inches. Leaning toward 24.

The 24 inch does look long however this lss is a little different...

Looks like I'm not the only one who figured the FAB stocks with cheek riser would be a good match. Are those the GL-Shock or the rgular with the cheek riser add on? Also looks sharp with the black cheek rest and the FDE stock. I have a GL-Shock on order for an eventual LSS build. Should work well for a 20" 308.

C5, any LOP issues using the HERRA folder? Also I believe a factory folder was in the works for the LSS?

I almost like it. I think with super low rings rather than a one piece, that it might be pretty good. Not sure though what the weight would be. Still could add some functionality to heavier target rifles without going to the AR10 looking Tac21.

The one on the far left of the set looks like it might have low rings. Maybe the one with high rings on the bench is for some sort of NV gear? Considering how much money in gear is sitting there on that $30 bench :p ... it wouldn't surprise me if it was setup for NV on that one. Either that or a scope was just quickly put on for show.

700 AAC 16.5 inch barrel in .300 Blackout
PRS2 stock with Adapter
Leupold Mark 4 2.5-8x scope TMR illuminated

Great little setup would love to add a silencer to it but unfortunately you know how it is.

As for the railed variants that you showed us defiantly not worth the extra weight for the "look cool" factor in my opinion.
Unless you have a nightvision optic to mount to the front, the extra rails take away from what I think is the main advantage of the LSS which is its very minimalist, lightweight design.

Got me sold on one for my rem sps tac 223 16.5 barrel

Here's mine;

Rem 700, AAC-SD in 308 with 20" barrel
Black MDT LSS Chaisis with 3" extended foregrip
XLR Ind Tac lite butt stock
Troy Ind Battle Ax Pistol Grip
Vortex Razor HD 5x-20x Optic
American Rifle Company M10 Scope rings
Harris Bipod (debating on an Atlas, but low priority)

Going to install a Timney 517 trigger in May, then she is done.

Just putting together my first hand loads for her this weekend, but it will be a while before I get up to the range to test them out, hopefully mid-April.

At the range

I have the GL-Shock Fab defence stock on mine. I find it too loose on the milspec buffer tube. Not sure if it would be any better on a commercial one. FYI if you get it in FDE it does not match MDT's FDE, it is slightly lighter in colour. Magpul seems to be a better colour match. It also has an annoying "twang" from the recoil spring when fired. I think I'll be changing it out for something else.
