.366 wsm?

Winchester goofed bigtime when they brought out the .325 WSM instead of the .375 version. A .366 would fill
the bill nicely for anything from plinking to the big stuff.:)

Winchester wanted to do a 338wsm but the long heavy bullets took up too much powder space. They couldn't match the 338 win mag with the wsm so they released something a bit different. The 325 was the biggest caliber winchester could get the desired performance out of.

Now if you are trying to best the 9.3x62 then that's probably doable, but its not a magnum.

Someone mentioned a 375wsm - anyone know what kind of velocities this gets? Does it even come close to h&h performance?

Just talked to Marshall of Matrix... 290 gr projectiles are in the mail. Expander mandrels ordered from Sinclair. When I get back from my LEH moose hunt I'll put together the dummies of the 366 WSM and decide if it's going in a Rem SA or Long... Barrel has been sourced (12 twist). It'll be going in an LSS chassis with a folder. Damn winter projects! This stuff keeps me in the poor house.

Much of a muchness. The only good thing about it is that it would get up Gatehouse's nose a bit.

Doesn't bother me if people want to spend their money. :)

While I heartily support wildcats on the NEW KING case, I don't see how going from .375 to .366 would make much sense. Both would chuck similar sized bullets at about the same velocity.

Obviously, this sort of thing doesn't really need to make sense if someone just wants it. :)

Marshman, the 12 twist is what's readily available... Still looking for a take off bbl that'll do as well.

Gate, I just like doing something different, that's all.

One owner reports his 375 WSM puts a 300gr out the door at 2450 from a 20" barrel.

but seeing as the .35 Sambar (wsm) was all good, no reason the .366 wouldn't be.
Yep - that's it in a nutshell.
My 35 Sambar (350 WSM) hunting loads are a 225s at 2900 and 250s at 2740 from a 22" barrel. Also 286s go out at 2485 and 310s at 2400. All good IMO - no down side. A 366 version probably will do slightly better IMO.
