The Tavor is in their sight but not the T97 ? lol The T97 is more affordable to the masses and pretty much has the same capability .. there must be more T97s out their than Tavors .. They will never have what they want unless they go full Australia on us and ban all semis, sadly this is likely to happen in the future .

If the RCMP had their way every gun would be restricted/prohibited. Legislation was put in place to ensure firearms with established non restricted status can not be changed by the RCMP again. I am sure they will try to find a way though. I would not worry about it. Every week on CGN someone "hears" that a new gun is going restricted/prohibited. A few weeks ago the SKS was going prohibited.
Regardless if it goes prohib or whatever, what is the RCMP's end game in all this?
The 858/SAN rulings made 15,000 plus criminals over night. posession of Prohibited weapons charges would result in guaranteed jail time even for first time offenders. After the courts were able to dig themselves out of the backlog where is there room in our already crowded jail system for all these new inmates and those coming from further prohibitions?

Yes but they were prohibited on the basis that they were a varient of the 550 series.

I won't believe it till I see it, but just know that its more or less the same laws that allowed for the Elander .50 beo mags, NRmag AIA 20/20 and 25/25 mags that has been over ruled by being declared "dual use". Some more examples would be TV-PressPass' VZ pistol ruling and the letter from the RCMP regaurding 10/22 mags.
The firearms lab is twisting the laws for thier rulings to however it works best for them.

ya for some reason I was thinking about the CZ858.
The Swiss Arms was prohibited for another stupid reason.
Either way, the RCMP reclassified these 2 type of rifles according to the Firearm Act. So the RCMP does not have the powers to just ban any gun they see fit. If that is the case, I believe all military style firearms will be banned already.
Those Swiss Arm Rifles were deemed a variant of the SG550 and the SG550 and its variants are prohibited by name.
The Tavor is NOT prohibited by name. That is the difference.

**can not be changed status after 1 year and this only applies to RCMP. Parliamentary legislation gets the power instead there by handing it off to the liberals, possibly soonas next year when some hard core gun owners are so hard at trying to hurt the CPC they end up hurting themselves and the rest of us more than the CPC.
Its short cited and foolish but some of the hard core crowd will do it. We will all pay.

Nothing to worry about , nothing will change until after the next election.....but if the liberals get in ......the anti-gun agenda will be back on track again . With the CPC in power , firearm owners have had some breathing room.....but nothing lasts forever.....ENJOY it while you can....

Being a SA varient of a FA is not illegal. Being a design based off of NAMED PROHIB is illegal because it can be very similar in design, likely with some interchangeablity of parts with a new name. Kinda like an AK47 is a named prohib and a Galil is a varient.

Errr....right...sorry They're obviously not worth more than pennies on the dollar as they are about to be banned. Being a generous soul I'm prepared to help these poor owners out and take them off their hands.
He HAD quite a collection. I was there when he was taking them for a canoe trip and saw him from shore as his canoe capsized and all of them sank to the bottom of the deepest lake in BC somewhere...
