Modified vs Cylinder bore

Damn you Ellwood Epps. This 14" 590 monster keeps mutating. Good features on that model.

$711 for ghost rings and Modified but a Speedfeed stock that I'm going to rip off right away... nah. I'll keep my CB w/bead.

These are going to be very plentiful in different configurations, I expect.

SFRC are sold out. Bullseye has 16 in stock, all CB.

Wow, don't think they sold a unit once SFRC put the 10% off sale on. I think Epps will sell out all their Mod/GR/SF 14" quickly, too. Even at $711.25. I might think of buying one but I'd need a buyer for the Speedfeed stock as I'm going to take it off immediately. Anyone know what these are worth, with a round count of 0? Better yet, anyone looking for one?

Those speed feed stocks with the ammo holders are lameeee

I know, that's why I don't want to pay more for a gun that has one installed, when I know I'm going to rip it off and throw it in the spare parts bin before I even shoot it.

Bring a 590A1 with BOTH BARRELS and watch it sell like hotcakes.

I'd buy a speedfeed stock if the price was right.....preferably one I could pick up around Vancouver to save on shipping.

It's definitely an issue..... Pretty sure I can fix that though.
Even the recoil pad needs attention.

The more I think about it for the work needed maybe I should charge to take these things out of people's trash cans....

:)

This guy sure sounds like a Canuck,

Regardless of barrel length, a chokes affect remain the same.
Slugs will preform well with all, increasing in accuracy the tighter the restriction. Modified being the peak reccomendation.
They will not wear out a choke. Its soft lead, being channeled through hard steel.
If you have the opportunity to buy a tactical shotgun with a modified bore, then I suggest you do. You will have more than ample time to buy open cylinder shotguns everywhere else.

It's Mossberg 590A1 compact, one of the toughest shotguns on the market, with extra heavy and thick barrel.
As mentioned there are no choke tubes, barrel is manufactured to specs of modified choke.

How did the idea that "firing a slug will not damage a choked barrel" becomes synonymous with firing a slug in a choked barrel will not accelerate wear? Its an easy test though, begin with a new modified barrel, pattern it with shot, and record the pattern. Then fire 50 full powered slugs through the barrel and pattern it again with the same ammo that the barrel was first patterned with, I think you'll be in for a surprise.

Don't you want a trail of shells falling out of it to help you find your way back, in the bush :nest:

I hear that is their #1 feature cou:

With mine, you could hardly remove them unless you only ran 1 round per tube, and only the left side was typically readily accessible for me.

This guy's voice and accent is torture to my ears... a little Edith Bunker in there.

Whiny little bastard, isn't he? lol. Crazy Glue the pad back on to use it while you wait for a new aftermarket stock of your choice to arrive. Easy peasy.

I've bought these (full sets) on many occasions for between 60.00 and 70.00 shipped.

Actually, there isn't a lot of choices, stock wise, for the 590's. I don't know anyone who actually shoot with rounds in the stock. I've had these on many guns (590's and 870's) and have never had any issues with them. I find them very comfortable to shoot..... but that's just me.
