Smokin deals on Grand Power 9mm's/.22's and range reports

If I had known these pistols were that nice for that price I would have ordered the whole set. Happy I got a basic MK12, but I guess I'm greedy.

On that note, I noticed the manuals included are for mk7's and that these didn't come with any additional backstraps.

I guess I'm just fortunate because my old mk7 came with a full set that I can use.
It doesn't?!? I wish these had the solid grip like previous model but why sell a gun that uses backstraps and not include them?

Mine arrived today! No extra backstairs but they weren't part of the deal. My understanding is that the dlask guns only included the medium back to help keep the price point low.

Whatever was included fits me well, hoping to break it in tomorrow.

If you hand fits the Med grip (Which feels similar to the fixed grip GP6 then it's nice to save some money and have a little less clutter in the parts department.....the nice thing is that if you have small or extra large hands the other grips are available if needed.

First of all, I have to give props to Grand Power for making such an amazing pistol at a remarkable price, and second to Dlask for blowing these out so cheap that anyone who missed out on the deal will surely feel sorry now.

Quality is as good as my Glock. Feels very nice in the hand, action is incredibly smooth. Lockup and fit on this gun is superb. Can't wait to pump some lead down range with this thing.

This really was a steal for around $550 all in. I'm happy that a lot of us are in the know, as I think it will continue to spread.

I'm very, very impressed. Slovakia is on the map now.

Banska Bystrica is an awesome place to visit. Slovakia is like a hidden gem.

I received my KS22 yesterday and I am going to go against the grain on my initial non-range report. It fits my hand extremely well and feels balanced. I would rate the fit/finish on mine at 6/10. Now I realize that everybody out there has differing standards to judge by so take my report as a FWIW.

There is highly visible machining marks that are located on the front top of the slide just aft of the front sight. Also there are what appears to be deformities in the coating of the slide either side below front site. I like the gun and I will not be sending it back but in my eyes the quality control on the machining was less than stellar. The mag release button also seems to have a "ridge" that you need to apply extra pressure on the button to get it to function whereas pressing the button from the right side works flawlessly. Slidelock notch is VERY sensitive to let go as well.

I also cycled through four types of ammo (Fed Match, Rem Golden, Win Super X Gold bullet and Win Wildcat) The only ammo it liked in non-firing was the Fed Match. The Win Super X was just ok and the other two it flat out refused to load or cycle properly. I can see this is going to be a fussy little pistol. Probably going to have to order some CCI.

Anyways those are my findings so far......no bs just an honest report.

My last 5 guns have been plastics..... Glock 22, M&P 9 & M&P 22, Ruger SR9, and now a GP MK12.
Other then the $329 price tag, I probably never would have got one. Passed on the $399 MK7 when they were for sale.
I expect it will be an OK pistol for the price. The xtrim or x-cal...whatever the one with all the holes in the slide...don't really appeal to me, kind of cheesy looking. Even the name "Grand Power" is kind of cheesy lol. Like a bad translation of the original BHP (GP35)...."Grande Puissance"

I think it may have been wiser to go with the X-Trim model for something more refined and closer to what I got with mine.

You should probably consider returning the pistol if you think the finishing is garish and not up to par. My X-Trim has a flawless finish and fit that I can only compare to say a Glock or "premium" brands. Buy once, cry once.

As for the sensitive slide catch, it's designed to return the slide to battery when you slam in a new magazine, hence why it's more sensitive than other pistols you may have owned.

Range time can only prove these firearms of their worth, and from my experience, I have no doubt what I received is going to be absolutely stellar.

I'm sure the 9mm are fine, but I'm eager to hear of other's experience with the K22 (X-Trim in my case). I've had mine since the start of the year and finding ammo that runs reliably is a royal PITA. For you new owners, watch for excessive wax buildup on the mag if your ammo is wax coated. What I've found with mine is after running a couple mags, then I get some insane ammo jumping where after a shot as the slide comes back and the new round is trying to feed into the chamber, it will miss and launch a full 18" into the air directly above the gun.

So I'm glad Dlask had this sale because now that there are more owners out there, I might get to the bottom of this and own a reliable .22 pistol.

I received mine today as well. Feels really nice in the hand, mag release a little bit sticky but no big deal. However, I must say that I'm horribly incompetent at the reassembly - Apparently I can't pull the slide back far enough. I've watched the videos, I'm pretty certain I have the technique right, so I'll just keep playing with it.

Edit: User Error! (Translation - I'm an idiot)

Got my k22 x-trim today and it is GORGOUES! !!!!

Still having a bit of a hard.time trying to disassemble it.
I'll #### around with it more later on throughout the week and see.

Only 22lr pistol that i have ever had not picky on ammo is my cz75 kadet.
I hope the GP is close to it in reliability.

practice makes it...

Looks to me...
Practice makes it perfect.

Thx for the heads up. I will report back with my range results in a couple of weeks.

Got it! I was losing my grip on the takedown tabs, which was allowing the U shaped section they're attached to to block the side from going rearward that last 1/8". After that, it dropped right on.

Yep, .22lr pistols are always a PITA.

One tip...

The mags for the K22's are relatively easy to take apart for cleaning and affordable.
Take the spring and follower out periodically and clean them.

As for disassembly, practice does make perfect.

Canuck,
Do you know why you guys changed the dimensions of the accessory rail on the MK 12's?

As for fussy .22lr's, many guns need a break in period where it's good to use something like mini mags for reliability. Some of Grand Power's literature lists their .22's as being designed not to be fussy with ammo. Obviously that doesn't mean it will run everthing but given that statement I would expect it to run most after a break in period.

For .22 pistols there are lots that run well out of the box with a variety of ammo..... Ruger and Browning for example. Some others are hit and miss and may only like higher velocity or slower powders. My go to test ammo is CCI Blazer bulk....it's been good in all my auto loaders, either pistol or rifle. It has the right pop to cycle well. If a gun won't run with those, then the gun needs some work lol
