Hey all,
So long story short I suffered an injury to the rotator cuff on my right shoulder a while back. Not requiring surgery I thought I would be good to go for deer season this week. Unfortunately I can't shoot my trusty .30-06, the recoil on that side is not doable. I asked some questions of my doctor and was told that it may or may not be good to go down the line. He said that with time I should be fine but to avoid further issues I may want to look at a lighter calibre (less recoil)
I'm not a fan of the .270. I know a lot of guys that use them and do well but I have no desire to own one. I'd like a rifle, in stainless steel , that I can go for bear and whitetail with the odd moose or elk if the draw comes through.
I've been eyeballing the 7mm08 recently as a potential replacement, it seems like it would fit the bill with less recoil and enough power to knock down anything I'm gonna hunt in the next 20 years. Thoughts? Also I'd appreciate input on models of rifle as my .06 is a savage axis and I'd like to go a little higher end. Thanks for the input appreciate the help guys.
