O, sounds like round nose soft points might be the ticket for your whale - or not. Maybe you can get clearance for a spigot launched Bomb-lance. Hmmm. . . .
Otokiak, what will you be using for ammunition?

Once the rifle is in my hands i'll post a full size pic of what I asked PGW to make me.(FYI my singleshot full length is for sale in precision sales) Here's my new 50bmg shorty with irons. I plan to shoot beluga whales and narwhal & hopefully a walrus from the boat with the iron sites as most shots would be anywhere from 50 yards to 150 yards or less. Scope it for long distance on muskox or any other creature on the land.

I will also use it to target shoot out long distance ...![]()
sask378 that's a good question. Gotta check and see whats available in Winnipeg when I'm there next month. I do have just under 200 rounds of 650gr fmj bullets as I've only shot 38 rounds thru my full length 50 rifle at targets. I truly wish to shoot a narwhal mainly with this new rifle from the boat next fall as it'll be open season then again for the unicorn of the ocean. BOOMER I had to laugh when I thought this one up & knew there'd be some folks who reminded me of hunting with small calibre. HAHAHA. No more 2, 3 or more shots on whale for this guy.Bang whales dead one shot.

p.s. friends ask me why did I do this ... my answer is because I can & well for snitz & giggles.![]()
We have got some ammo for you....We can take it deer hunting when you are down!
The fine folks at PGW had to figure out how to make the open sites/irons work so they had to lower the rear of the rail and test fire. I can't wait to see this thing in person. THANK YOU PGW you guys rock!

How well do those aperture sights work with the eye relief on the rear sight?
