What would you do?

This thread is silly as chit.
We wag our fingers and pass our judgements when people break other laws or trespass ect ect
But yer too chicken to call the report line like a responsible canadian citizen should?
That's sad.
If as you say, it is a no hunting zone, private land or not, the guy is a poacher. And him having a bow doesn't give him some special ethical status to be a poacher either.

Report the guy to the authorities and get on with your day.
Doesn't get any simpler than that
 
Just wanted to get a few opinions, I'm on the fence still. I'm not going to go out there and confront the guy, it's not my job. My hunting buddies all say to call township
 
Is this in a subdivision or in a town? Is it a 1 acre lot or a 100 acre lot... Personally, unless the guy is hunting in your back yard, I'd let him be.. By-law or not.. Yeah yeah yeah the law is the law.. The law says you can't speed either....He's not hurting anyone by being there and quite frankly it's ridiculous that now days the gov has more rights over your land than you do.. That land owner has probably owned that land long before there were any houses around..everybody has different opinions... This one is just mine.. Let the kid hunt, a lot worse things he could be doing ...

:) not even in a friendly way? That's no way to get to know your new neighbors and folks around your area! You're not a candy azz by chance R U?:p Grab a 6 pack and go greet the bow hunter, you just might get an awesome venison steak for your friendly efforts! Be brave, what is the worst that can happen to you? I highly doubt "scalping"!

Even if I didn't know about a township or municipal prohibition against hunting, I would mention it to a neighbourif I saw a someone hunting on his land. I wouldn't ask questions or tell him what, if anything, to do about it. It's his land. I would think I was being a good neighbour by telling him in case he didn't know and leave him to deal with it.
 
Why do people find the need to inject themselves into someone else's business? I wouldn't even pass a second thought about it. The social conditioning is strong in this thread.

easy to say when it's not 30 ft away from "your" backyard! 30 ft says the OP, or did you miss that? And it could be trespassing! Could be illegal hunting! And you are talking about "injection" wtf! Friendly is the way to go about it to find out what is what before jumping to conclusions.

Where is this? Can landowners get permits from the ministry for livestock/crop protection. For example, family of mine lives in langley township where there is a bylaw against discharge of firearms or bow yet in these same areas you can still hunt even with a rifle if it is for crop and or livestock protection

If a guy is beating the #### out of his wife or a kid in front of you would you inject yourself??
 
There is a major difference between a no discharge of firearms area and a no hunting area. I didn't look to see what province the OP is in? If Ontario a municipality cannot actually deem an area " no hunting" as it goes against the hunting heritage act. They have to deem them no discharge of any type of weapon they do not want used. The fellow on your neighbours land may not actually be breaking any laws especially if he has permission from the landowner to be there. If you know the landowner maybe ask him if he is aware there is someone bow hunting the area? But I would ensure it is an actual "no hunting" zone as opposed to a "no discharge of firearms" zone before I stirred the pot and made an enemy.

Now the original question is what would I do? Simple......mind my own business.

Here's another option, if ur that concerned and upset that he's doing such terrible things, go to him and explain that you are uncomfortable with him hunting so close to your yard (if that is in fact what you are upset about) and ask him to move his stand... Or if you are more concerned just about upholding the stupid bylaw, then tell him that and give him a chance to stop hunting... Do whatever ya can without bringing the pigs into the situation.. If he were shooting them from his truck at night with a spot light, I'd say report it..
