Now I know none can compete with the bolt action precision rigs. But are there any semi autos that can even come close. I know some guys have built AR with match grade barrels etc. but any of the NR semis capable of at least 1 MOA? And please if your going to say your xcr can do it please post some proof. My xcr couldn't even make 2.5-3 moa.

Is there a NR that has after market barrels that would bring it to a 1 moa gun? Or is it just the actions that make it less accurate?

FAMAE SG542
And sorry I don't have any proof, but my third 5 round group out of the box was 1" at 100m.
Too bad for the cheap scope I threw on it. Rectifier died by the 4th grouping, stringing vertically all over the place. I've since been able to afford proper optics, and need to go repeat the experiment. But for one shining moment, my semi went sub moa!
I had seen mixed reviews on this rifle before buying it, and would have been content with a 2 moa battle rifle, happy if I had got 1.5moa, and was very impressed when I first shot it. Even with the blown (NCStar) scope, I was able to score 4/10 at 500m on a torso-sized target. 4in lateral spread and height was, of course, all over. Results may vary, but I'm glad I took a chance. As they say, you get what you pay for!

the acr with a herron barrel making it NR will do 1 moa consistently on every group shot. Im actually saving up my cash right now to do this hopefully as my birthday present to myself in April.

HK SL8 will do 1 moa out of the box.

I didn't rebarrel my ACR, but with the factory barrel, I was getting MOA with handloads. My Swiss arms also do MOA with handloads, but they're in legal limbo right now.

Was out at the range a while ago with my M&P 15 .223, hitting a 24 inch steel plate at 200 yards pretty consistently with open sights, thought that was really accurate

You should be able to do this with any rifle, semi or bolt action. My spikes with a 14.5" barrel, I was able to hit a 12 inch gong at 300yds very regularly with hornady steel match ammo using iron sights.

LaRue & KAC can and do produce less than 1 MOA on a consistent basis, using factory match ammunition in 168 & 175gr...

my keymod HB XCR-l shot 2 and under with 5 types of ammo, I got 3 groups of 5 , around 1 moa with hornady 53g. The pics are in another thread on here.

Ya I know there are many AR capable. I'm looking at the non restricted stuff.

A lot of people say the HK SL8 is capable of 1-MOA. I've not been able to get anywhere near that with mine but mine's converted to a G36 type thing so one really can't expect that kind of accuracy with a red dot or 3.4x mini-scope.

If you can find one, check out the Volquartsen Evolution in .204 Ruger with a 20" or 24" barrel. It'll drill sub MOA all day long. I bet the Volquartsen .17 HMR rifles would do the trick as well. They're hard as hell to get hold of in Canada though. Check Milarm in Edmonton or Sylvestre's Sports in Bonnyville, AB as they're the licensed Volquartsen dealers in Canada. Milarm has a website but it's not the greatest. Sylvestre's doesn't even have that.

I have 2... H&K MR223 is an amazing rifle (not sure if it's luck with that one), and my LMT MWS-308 (tack driver). My Noveske's are all very accurate as well, but nothing close to the fore mentioned rifles. As for NR semi's, the best of my rifles are 1 of the 3 RFB's (total fluke on that), and surprisingly my XCR-M. Swiss arms and SL-8 seem to get very nice results from many shooters here.

Just for fun....today at the range.....

Bushmaster ACR, original 16.5" barrel
.223, 55gr Sierra Blitzking loaded with Varget 26.5 gr
100 yrds, no wind, foggy, about +3 degree C
Scope is Elcan SpectreDR 1-4 set at x4
Accushot Bipod, bag in the back.

My SL8 wore a 1-4x scope, and I was able to consistently get 1-1.5" groups at 100 yards with factory match ammo. I expect to get better results once my loading bench is set up again.

The downside is that it is a heavy match grade barrel, so the gun is front heavy.

I love mine, though. I've got a 3-9 x scope on it now, and am waiting for an opportunity to sight it in and do some more accuracy testing.

"LaRue, Les Baer, GAP, JP Enterprises - to name only those - manufacture semi's that will give results any bolt-action semi/custom rig will........"

Uhhh....no..they may be good but not that good ...
