Hey guys, I've recently sold a custom ruger 10/22 that I built because of all this hype ive been hearing about the NS522 magic pew pew stick that everyone is frenzying over... and I must say, it is 100% one of the best firearm related purchases I've ever done to date.
Here's some groups out of my bone stock NS522, literally took it out of the box, cleaned it, put a scope on it and shot it.
this one is from 25m, on an ammo testing day, each one of the points on the cross was an aiming marker, so some of them have up to 5 different groups shot in one "+"
so far it seems to like RWS Rifle match the best, Eley Team is kind of weird out of this gun, i would get 4 of 5 in the same hole and then 1 flier, almost every time.
SK standard and Eley practice are a pretty close second.
and CCI blazers are the best of the economy .22 loads.
heres a couple more of the RWS rifle match at 25m:
and another, same ammo:
now heres my question... the barrel isnt even free floated, nor the stock pillar bedded yet, should i leave it as is? i dont see how free floating or pillar bedding can do any harm.........
next up, revisiting the Eley team ammo to see if the flier is caused by my crappy shooting, or if its actually the gun.
and also some 50M groups with the premium ammo, and maybe the CCI blazer just for a comparison.
ps: I don't know if they're all like this, but the factory trigger on mine is ALMOST as crisp and light as a Tikka T3 :| this can't be normal?
Stay tuned!
