New Non-res Black Rifle - Jard J48

Wow, those threads sure bring back memories. Ah the days when I was full of energy, hope, and dreams.

The real world definitely #### all over those plans. The Kyle Precision one made me want to go back in time and punch my younger self in the face.

What happened anyways?

I'm a journeyman machinist that does/did primarily CNC work. And no, I was not a button pushing machine attendant. I've designed and built a few firearms. Worked in the arms industry for a bit, still do some side work and "consulting".
just quickly read through a few posts, it seems you were doing, 6 yrs ago , what a current site vendor is doing now. Why did you stop? Anybody who has the capability ,and connections , to.make an AR clone , .223, NR , could make a fortune in canada.

Why can't somebody in canada make a viable NR , 223 , AR clone ( cause that's what everybody wants). A Canadian company just president a couple hundred high cal rifles , in a couple weeks. At $3100 to $4500 a pop. I think a .223 at $2000 a piece would sell like hot cakes.

Thats the problem, The canadian price point for a small shop would be over 2K for a NR riffle...

There is plenty of 2K riffles that are NR already....

None that I know of that looks like an AR. Look what a site vendor just did with a 308 ar clone. AR , NR , is what most people want.

ATR is planning to make a .223 version of their rifle. Eventually.

unless you came with a very easy rifle to manufacture and design , with today technologie that can make the thing easy , why people always want something close to an ar ?

it probably time to invent a new system better than an ar ,

Long story short, the guy who started KPA didn't have the manufacturing background, machining knowledge, or financial backing he lead me and others to believe. I was a young guy only a few years in the industry who saw his chance to live his dream building guns and I ignored a lot of warning signs. By the time it became obvious I'd been duped and this was going nowhere, I was in too deep.

I left shortly after I promised one of Canada's largest distributors a prototype in a week only to have the power turned off the next day. I never did get them their prototype.

The whole experience, and others since, soured me from the firearms industry.

its called a scar, rcmp went balls deep and prohibited it.

More choice is better, aesthetics ugly is fine by me, as long it aligns with my need / want / wallet. We need new generations of NR guns, and I don't view any of my guns, even those relegated to ranges - as range toys.

Handled one yesterday. The weight wad ok, hand guard was a little narrow for my likings but acceptable. What I didn't like was the feel of the reciver it had a very cheap hollow feel to it. Like a tin can. I would be tempted if it didn't cost more then a t97 with ftu

Looks like a complete piece of shyte milled out on a bridgeport at home. This thing ain't worth $400.
