As we all know it's tough finding .22 ammo but a local store has bricks of these yellow jackets. Just wondering if they are any good in the 10/22?

I have an SR22 (similar to the 10/22). No issue with the yellow jackets in the factory 10rd tubular magazine, no issue in the HC3R 25 rd magazine, but I get 1 or 2 misfeed out of my 25 rd Ruger mag and 25 rd Butler Ck mag. I think its a function of those mags (proven in the fact that when I can get CCI, I get about the same misfeed ratio). The yellow jacket has enough energy to cycle the action properly in the SR22. The shape of the truncated bullet tip on the yellow jacket may be at play too.

The Remington Golden Bullet is a similar energy round, 1500 fps I think, but the bullet is RN plated. Much better performer in the SR 22 than the yellow jacket.

I found that they would not work at all in my semi-auto pinkster, but almost no issues in my tube feed Henry and old Marlin.

My 10/22 cycles them well.

Was one of the most accurate loads in my mark II which was surprising. As I've had bad accuracy in every 22 I tried with these in the past.

And I know what u mean my walmarts have hundreds upon hundreds of boxes of them. For $5/50 tho....

Thunderbolt and Golden Bullet cycles well in my 10/22, however I would never buy it again, stuff is filthy... Federal automatch/champion, winchester super x or CCI is the only "bulk" ammo i'll shoot in mine now.

They're the only round left at the crappy tires around here. I bought a box of 50 for $5. Only round except CCIstingers that cycle my Cooey. But the truncated hollow point jams while feeding, often. I only have a box for backup if I can't find stingers.

Depends on the semi auto but, as has been stated already, right now there ain't much else around a lot of the time. Nobody can ever excuse me of liking them however.

The last time I used Rem. Yellow Jackets was when the Remington S/A Viper came onto the market.
Out of 500 rounds there was 50 or 60 rounds that failed to fire and that was just my gun, my buddies Viper had a similar issue with that ammo.
I have never had any issues with AE in any of my .22'sand will not buy another box of that YJ stuff, not a scientific test mind you, but the proof on the ground was enough for me.
If that is all you can get...well then that is all you can get ...
Just my .05 worth of opinion on that choice of ammo.

The truncated nose helps feeding in my wife's Beretta 71. It works excellent with all ammo, but only when the mags are loaded to 6 rds. When I use Yellow Jackets it runs reliably with full mags (8 rds).

I've used them in my 10/22 before. They worked OK, but I found that any of the "truncated cone" type bullets didn't always feed as well as bullets with a more rounded nose. CCI Stingers and Mini-Mags seem to work the best for my rifle.
