H&K G36 Civilian announced HK243 S SAR and TAR

If you are going for the collectors look sure, but the new features are desperately needed on that rifle, nice to see they fixed that pistol grip.

What was wrong with the pistol grip? Don't the two models have the same one?

Could someone give me breakdown what the big differences between the two, besides the obvious (rails and stock). Definitely buying one if it ever comes here, leaning towards the original look.

Sooo how do I get one??
Is anyone working on bringing them in yet??
I would like to hear that SOMEONE is trying to get one of these to the RCMP lab RIGHT THIS MOMENT.
Or do we have to wait for this whole distributor kerfuffle to get sorted out before someone starts working on getting these into the hands of Canadians...?

I wish i could be optimistic about the possibility of a civvi G36, but H&K will be even more difficult to get info from that FN was with the SCAR. The RCMP will most likely shelf it for quite some time, then prohib it based on lack of information and compliance from H&K. I hope I'm wrong, really really hope.

They are not carrying though with approving rifles ATM. Submissions go there to die.

All the more reason to get it to them now so they can get their 3-4 year approval process started immediately.
ALSO it may be easier than in other applications as others have remarked in this thread, the G36 and SL8 already have FRT numbers in Restricted and Non-Restricted which could very likely make the process of approval MUCH quicker.

It has, Bob Nichols son has started another distribution company. Bob is there working for him…they are the new HK distributor.

Are you sure about this?
I saw a few HK pistols come through another established distributor a couple of weeks ago.
I'm not at liberty to say who they came from since I don't know the details of why or how.

Yea. I am down for one. Have a decked out SL8 with a Hera Arms lower, ACR stock and a 6.5x20x44 on it for accuracy work. In the future I would be looking for a lighter one like this. This one seen is the tactical S-TAR "Sporter Professional" version. I would be looking for the older handguard, buttstock version called the S-SAR "Sporter Basic". Should be cheaper too.

It's not getting information on them. It's having a full auto model to compare it to. The RCMP gun library doesn't have samples of alot of the firearms companies are trying to get approved. That's the reason why it's taking a long time for certain firearms to get approved.

The problem I have with Bobby is when he was on the C-68 committee he threw all the black rifle gun owners under the bus, when he thought only Mil/LE should have them and had no problem with them banning them. As long as he made money and got his Mil/LE contracts that was okay with him.
