I've got some good groups with the hornady 53 g Superformance . So ive ordered a few hundred 53 vmax projectiles. But I can't find any load data for this rnd. Any body know what powder or load ,that's in this cartridge ? I pulled a factory rnd apart, and it has 27.9 g of powder.

From the 9th edition hornady manual.

I'm loading my 53gr Vmaxs with CFE 223 for my Sako. I have shot some impressive 1/8" 100yd groups with this combo although they have the downfall of having to single load as they are too long for the magazine.

I got 1 moa groups with the factory 53g, that was in my XCR . I pulled a few factory rnds, they all have 27.9 g of powder. There's only a few types of powder , that's in the above chart , that matches that. Is it possible to find out which powder , is in the factory loads?

Benchmark has a max load of 25gr under a 53gr V max. I however loaded mine long and used 26 gr of Benchmark. It's the fastest load I've gotten yet and also the most accurate at about 2/3 MOA and 3250 FPS.

It's a great bullet with a high B.C. and good terminal performance.

The powder used in factory superformance is also not one we can buy. Its a blend of powders and is different for every superformance loading. It is not the same as the superformance powder we can buy.

Has anybody ever pulled a factory rnd and used the powder in a reloaded 53 g. Just to see ifs there's any diff? Or is that not wirh the bother?

If a factory 53g vmax , has3425 fps ,can you use a chronograph to get your hand loads to the same fps. Even though you may be loading over max? I'm not going to do this, I'm just curious.

the max load for 55g vmax is 23.5, using h335 according to the hornady manual . 25.3 according to label on h335 bottle. And 26 g according to my Speer manual. I've loaded 30 rnds at25 g . What ya think of that? Should I pull them apart?

I think it would have been best to start lower and work up to 25 grains. The Hornady manual can be a bit frustrating. They seem to have the best lawyers in the way they have some very low charges on SOME loads.

If a factory V-max will do 3425 in YOUR barrel then it gives you something to aim for, but simply adding more and more of one powder is not the way to do it. Try a few different powders and see what shoots the best combination of fast and accurate. Remember that a low Standard Deviation is what will give you accuracy at long range and is as important as a small group at 100 yards. Usually they will tend to go hand in hand.

I load 26 grains of Benchmark (1 grain over max) under a 53 grain V max. Although I have found more accurate loads this one has a low SD and will shoot a 2" 5 shot group at 300 yards with a muzzle velocity of 3250. It is a hunting round and works very well. I would under the right conditions shoot at a coyote out to as far as 400 yards. This is what I feel is the limit of myself, my gun and the cartridge.
