RBCS warranty? Update

Mine looks the same as well and I've never had any issues. There's is some wiggle room between the bushing an pin and the bushing is mad of two pieces so its normal that it will open up a bit when you insert the tray. To be honest I'm not sure the issue is with your priming tool.
 
Hornady brass? If so it has a crimp you need to remove. I have primed thousand of 223 with my rcbs hand primer and no problems. When parts wore out sent them an email and parts were in the mail same day or next day.
Had a sizing die that a case got stuck in. Wrecked everything but the body. Sent email and all new parts in the mail.

You don't need to squeeze the handle all the way to seat the primer. Once you feel it seated, stop squeezing. From your picture it looks like some got seated pretty hard.

Are you asking me? If so , I have to think that 2 wks after Christmas should have no bearing on the situation. Anyway no big deal, as the other photos show, it's not the primer anyway.
 
That press sucks for small primers period. I can load with it successfully, but I have to chamfer primer pocket openings, go very slow at the start of seating so you can feel the primer engage. If it sticks you wiggle the shellholder around till it starts. Now I prime on the weird press system that comes with the Lee Challenger kit. Have busted a few Lee hand prime tools. They are really good till the handle snaps off.
 
i broke a piece for my press. I emailed them the problem and within 2 days the new part was in the mail free of charge! good support from my experience, especially since it was a 20 year old press!

Those are the ones that got stuck, it was either , pry the case out or force them in. Once it started to seat, there was no going back.

I was replying to roaddog's pictures not your. There's obviously other issues with yours than a tight squeeze.

I have had somewhat similar problems with the RCBS priming tool. At times, after seating a primer, the seating rod doesn't drop back to its proper lower position but hangs up near the shell holder (rod is off-centre as your photo shows). The solution was to press the white (in this case) holder for the shellholder farther into position by pressing on the butt end of the white holder or if too far, by pressing back on the white holder by pressing inward on the primer tray. You are using the proper rod for the small primers (white holder). The larger one is too large to fit. Give this idea a try to see if you can centre the rod.
