I though Tavors were "inaccurate"

Out of my Tavor at 100 Yards, rifle is stock, wearing a vortex 1-4x24 viper pst. I was shooting 52gr Hornady V-Max. had one flyer that I had pulled.

After a bit of flak I am just going to say this is not a very serious post. Just showing what can be possible out of a Tavor.

.726 subtract .224= .502" 4 shot group.

Interesting...but you'd need to do some multiple, (at least) five shot groups, using the same, and any other factory ammunition that you could source.
Still....a very promising start!

I agree with this. Im not saying the Tavor can't be acurate, but it needs to be proven repeatedly in order to come to a conclusion of the accuracy level. Not just a fluke 3rd group.

Do at least a few groups of 5 rounds or more and you got my attention.

Some very nice shooting ! I can't wait to get my Tavor out and start putting some rounds through it and see what it can do. I don't think my shooting ability is up getting a group like that tho, ( SIGH ) -30 weather and 15 feet of snow is not conducive to a shooting trip unfortunately :(

Buddy the flier was my fault, I pulled the shot and I called it. Now if you read my post right you would have understood this.

if you read his post, you can see he was joking. That group from a Tavor is excellent. like another guy said; his is a 4MOA gun.. you achieved excellent accuracy in that group. he was teasing you.

(Called fliers aside) take two targets overlapping each other and shoot a 5 shot group. Replace top target and shoot another 5 shot group. Repeat this process untill you have fired 25 rounds. The bottom target with the 25 holes will usually show that the 'fliers' noticed on the 5 hole targets aren't actually fliers at all.
This test works for any firearm obviously.
I know this isn't something new and may be common knowledge for some so please dont sh** on me, lol!
Cheers!

P.s., nice group btw!

Thanks all who have offered advise on shooting groups, but the bullets I have bought are hard to find in my area, so I would like to save the rest for coyotes.
I did shoot two more groups and Bobbum you are right, they arnt really flyers as I had 2 more that landed in the same spot, but the 4 that were together were under an inch, closer to 3/4". So if you all would forgive me for my "flyers" or whatever you would like to call them I think I have a pretty good shooting rifle.

My tavor is 4 MOA, I don't care since I shoot steel. Its a combat rifle that is Minute of Bad guy....

Here is the important factor many seem to overlook when purchasing a SERVICE RIFLE..

This would be true if it was still 1958.

The reality is that there are other run-of-the-mill service rifles with service ammo printing inside 2" at 100m. Some are even better than that. Hell, even guns from the eighties can do that.
You guys can make all the excuses you want for your $2500 purchase, but bottom line is technology and standards of construction has caught up to ammo and rifle manufacture such that 4 moa at 100m/yds is kind of...craptastic.
For the Tavor to be made in the 21st century and perform as it does - I think that is a considerable flaw.
As always, ymmv.

Tavor Blue Colt Canada C8 Red

Not much difference both battle riffles shooting noricrap .223

I enjoy shooting both, craptastic or not....
