The Modern Hunter Rifle UPDATED December 10 2015

It'll be nice to hear some news soon, I'm not surprised the RC's are dragging there ass on this no doubt with encouragement from a few that don't want to see it succeed. Myself will be in for a MH varmint & magnum when they come available as well. Hopefully with a trifecta of matching custom serial numbers

I'm in as well for the trifecta. I hope they limit to 75 on the following runs. A 300wm would be pretty sweet

My only concern with the magnums would be the weight of the rifle, these modern hunters already are starting to put on the pounds in many configurations. Now the 223 version I am in for.

Yeah, like a lot of modular platforms, you start stacking things on and the weight creeps up. The lightest possible configuration currently is just a shade over 8 lbs. That said, a lot of builds are closer to 11 when you add in heavier stocks, barrel contours, and handguards.

A 300 would be awesome! Ive been putting off my order for 3 reasons, 1.) waiting for the non restricted verdict, 2.) need to sell my 50bmg for the funds, and 3.) i would really prefer a 300 or 338 version, i can't decide whether to wait for the magnum or buy a 308 and sell it once the magnums finally come out.

^^^^ same with me. Either way. I'd rather have an Alberta made paper-puncher of this quality than most if not all of the similar offerings.

I sent an email to the RCMP of Thursday Jan 15 2015 asking for the now overdue final verdict. To date no reply. It would have been nice to know BEFORE we went to SHOT so could govern our purchasing accordingly. So we will proceed under the assumption that we have a NON restricted firearm to build.

We will be looking for more furniture that will fit the MH and will post findings on the 27th when we return.

Won't work in a P Mag, so no way in a Modern Hunter.
Still trying to determine what mags for the Modern Magnum, but don't get your hopes up.

The Nemo omen rifles have .300WM mags and I've seen in shooting illustrated that they had one chambered in 375H&Hmag and it fed out of the mags so those will work with multiple calibers

I'm in the first 75, and will purchase the gun either way...

I'm not in the first 75. But I'll also keep mine either way. It's just the archaic transpost regulations that get to me. Also, I would like to hunt with mine if I want to.

So, while I will be upset, I will keep mine no matter what.

Dear Sirs,

If for some unfortunate reason the RCMP come back and tell you that the Modern Hunter will be considered restricted. Will you be refunding clients that do not want another restricted firearm?
