New Kel Tec Sub2k Gen 2

The polymer fit and finish looks much improved. Look at how thick the plastic looks at the base of the mag well. 10 screws in the foregrip too.

The fit and finish on my gen 1 was terrible when I opened it up 2 years ago. Looked like a toy. It still takes only minimal pressure to split the grip open a little bit.

If the price remains the same. This is on the buy list.

Too bad they don't make a fixed stock 18.5" barrelled CMR30 for the Canadian market. Then I'd buy a PMR30 as a companion pistol in a heartbeat ...

The cmr30 wouldn't need an 18.5" barrel. It's a rim fire! As long as OAL is over 26" it's GTG.

Edit@ but I do think the rcmp would limit the magazines to ten rounds.

Why would they limit it to ten rounds? As you say....it is a rimfire.

The cmr is a great way for guys with a PMR to use 30rd mags:)

This is a case where pistol mag rules bite us in the azz. It uses PMR mags which are pistol mags so they are limited to 10rds. Our firearms law contain so much fail.

Well looks like we've derailed this one... Sorry, TVPP. :)

I've been waiting on the CMR for a couple years now. I suspect they are having some issues with bringing it to market.... But once they do I'll be all over it.

Oh what the heck, lets derail it a little further ;)

I wonder how they will extend the barrel for Canada while still using the tread on front sight? I guess they will either have to thread the extension or step it down a bit to allow the sight to slide down to meet the existing threads....

I talked to Chad about this. We will be getting an extended sight radius! Full 18.5" barrel, with the sight block in the same position relative to the muzzle as the 16"

IDK. It's about TIME they did some stuff to the S2K.
When you watch all the reviews though, Chad from KT keeps saying how everything was done to reduce manufacturing costs and time. He said price would rise by about $150.
Uhhh...if you've reduced manufacturing times and cost...ummm.??? The price did WHAT?
Hey, Economics 101 Supply and Demand. But still.

All the gunchannel guys shoot it and rave about it and even right after Chad tells THEM...to reduce costs and time, they say, WOW so Kel-Tec really DOES listen to it's customers.
Uhh NO...if they DID, wouldn't they have done something about the cheek weld and sights? The LEADING complaint might be the front sight only and they did change the front sight but if the sightS and cheek weld are a close second or a tie for first place on the customer complaint list, shouldn't they have raised them by 3/8 or 1/2" while they were at it? Would they have had to spend any more $ to do that? They're re-tooling anyway.

Maybe I'm just bitter cause I have a brand new Gen1...ON ORDER!! lol
The stock is expandable by 1-1/2" I think he said? Better than nothing. Sling mounts are cool. Front sight and nicer grip are awesome. Better more positive folding latch. Inherently (=didn't have to spend or do anything, it just wound-up being better) trigger, the forend of course...of COURSE it's way nicer and better than the GEN1. It might not be any or much more once the Gen2s come out to just RedLion your Gen1 out. Of course then you doonnt get all the other improvements but..
Just sucks that it's gonna be $150 more in the USA $250 more up here? They are cheaper and faster to make this way but demand will probably climb at a rate outpacing the production speed I bet.
God. Some people just like to COMPLAIN I think.
:)
They look awesome and I'm sure they will be.

Canadian dollar being so low will likely raise the price of these as well. On the bright side, the new rails on the gen2 should make it easier for the aftermarket guys to invent all sorts of sub2k accessories. The sights on the gen1 were just plain terrible.

Really? That's not what I was told the first time I passed the Kel Tec booth. I asked one of their design guys and he said MSRP would stay the same. I didn't even think to ask Chad later when I saw him.

How come there are no threads on Kel tec products in 2015 shot show section ?
TV, did Chad say anything about RDB? Will it be available to us and when?

Because that's where CGN staff post their Shot experiences, and I guess they didn't go by that booth.

Really that's a question for Vault Distributing. Kel Tec is building a Canadian version the same time they build the US version. When it gets here is up to Vault.

Looks really nice. If I hadn't already added a quad rail, Red Lion Precision front sight, and TandemKross rear sight to my newer gen1 I'd think about trading up.
