a kid's .22

I bought a Henry mini bolt for my 8 year old daughter - is an excellent shooter - as and aside I have dealt with henry in the past on a different issue and they have absolutely excellent customer service.
 
Last week end, I tried randomly 200 rounds of Remington Peters,
in my old Cooey 60, and my Savage Rascal
=100 round in each rifle.
Conclusion:
Savage rascal = 5 rounds required second cocking.
Cooey 60 = 0, not a single issue.

Savage Rascal, still have a 5% misfire rate.
Acceptable ?
Not when you`re not use to.

By the way; accuracy was fine: I was shooting 7-10 rounds grouping for the fun of it at 50 yards=
the best I got was 1.5 inch.

Cooey Chipmunk - single shot, bolt action. Great value for the $$$. See Clay at Prophet River Firearms...he usually has a few in stock. You can get pkg deal with scope/rings/case for good price.

I have a 17HMR for my 2 boys in the LS stock and a friend just got his boy a SS model in .22 in the pkg deal this past fall.
 
Savage Rascal, it even comes in pink, or a 10/22 if you want a semi. Just don't get a cooey 60 i had one, damn thing never worked worth a heck, only feeding problems though so u will be fine with a single shot

Well me and 2 of my friends had cooey 60s, and none of them worked worth a damn. I avoid those like the plague but other people say they are great, so i don't know anymore. I will stick with my 10/22 which has had 1000s of rounds shot through it and 1 jam, my brother has a savage 64 and it doesn't like certain ammo it will only fire every second one and then it shoots thunderbolts flawlessly, maybe the rascal is picky too

Its kind of funny i do that with my 10/22 when my brother's savage 64 misfires
 
I have two daughters both with their own .22, a TC hotshot and a savage rascal. The Rascal is SO much more bang for the buck. The TC is overpriced junk, loose sights, thin bluing, and a gigantic hole of a peep sight. The Rascal is a different story altogether, parked, easily adjustable sights, an actual safety. Get the rascal it is a WAY better rifle.
 
My son is in outdoor retail... he says they have sold dozens of Rascal's and have not had a single warranty return... I think they are a solid choice.

My boy shoots a Marlin XT-22 YS1 single shot. Fits him well, good fiber optic sights, great trigger.
