This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

I saw 333 packs at Lebarons and 500 wilcat at Sports Action in Ottawa. I got two 333's and one 500. There was plenty on the shelf. This will do me for my shooting season.

Cabela's also has Federal Gold Medal 22lr 50 rounds in stock for $4.99.

EDIT:
The price listed online jumped to $5.99 for the Federals and $3.49 for the AE since lastnight when I ordered mine.

I've been buying SK/Lapua rounds for years. Price has remained fairly constant and there has never been a shortage.

How is the SK stuff overall? I've never seen it on a store shelf anywhere, but I keep seeing it mentioned in threads.

I've used Lapua's Centre X and Polar Biathlon stuff before, which is the most accurate stuff I've touched, but is SK similar? Is it more of just a target round or do they make hunting ammo as well?

Exactly this. I walked away from Gold Medal at 60 bucks a box. Then I almost bought some yesterday from Cabelas but just couldn't pull the trigger. I'd rather spend a little more and get the SK. If prices go any higher I'll just get a .223 to practice with, still a little pricier but I likely wouldn't shoot as many. Plus I could hone my reloading skills with it as well.

They're intended as practice rounds for target, but no reason you couldn't hunt with them I guess. They're more consistent than the cheaper stuff....not as many flyers.

My go to has been SK Rifle Match which is an excellent performer for the price. I shot the SK Standard Plus for a long time and noticed that I got tighter groups with the Rifle Match and I justified the additional cost. I shoot Centre X as well but only on occasion. I still haven't made it through a the first box of the brick I bought last year.

Lapua only has a few different loads. The SK stuff is essentially the Lapua that didn't make the final cut. With the exception of the Polar Biathlon all of the rifle rounds (SK Standard Plus, Rifle Match, Centre X, Midas, and X-Act) are loaded on the same machinery and then graded and sorted thereafter. All have the same muzzle velocity of 1073.

I've taken some grouse with the SK Rifle Match and it works fine. SK does make some high velocity hunting ammunition but I've only seen it on the internet.

I've shot probably 2000 SK rounds in the past year and not one single malfunction.

I like the sk for $70 a brick its pretty good. They also make high velocity hp ammo. Local store here gets it I haven't tried any though.
