Here's my Guncrafter no name cco. Guncrafter calls it a bobtail but because it is already smaller with the officer's sized frame, the bob is much more subtle. I've always loved the CCO as it feels great in the hand and points beautifully and is super quick out of the holster. I've previously had a Colt Gunsite CCO and it was also a beauty and an absolute laser. This one is super accurate, super smooth and very well finished. I think that Guncrafter doesn't get as much attention as say Wilson or Nighthawk but they make just as nice of a gun. Alex Zimmerman was the Director of R&D at Wilson before starting Guncrafter and he knows a thing or two about the 1911. The other thing I love about this gun is the Heinie straight 8 night sites. I've had Baer's, Nighthawks and other high end 1911's and they all came with 3 dot night sights which I can't stand. The straight 8 design is perfect and this one has a wider notch on the rear sight which I also love.

Here's a pic of the Colt CCO that I let go of a few years back. It also came with a 3 dot sight set up which I had switched out for the Novak night sights with a widened notch on the rear and tritium bar on the bottom. It worked pretty good but I still like the straight 8's better.

I haven't shot one yet but just handling one sealed the deal for me.
I bought a jig and a bobbed mainspring housing from brownells and plan to do a stainless SAM commander.

I loved the look and feel of my S&W1911SC but couldn't shoot it worth a darn. I traded it off in favour of a heavier gun. Next up is a Dan Wesson Guardian off gunbroker for me. I've been saying that for six months already but eventually I'll get around to it. My advice is to avoid Scandium framed guns if you can. It is gimmicky, and is not much better than aluminum.

Trinimon Nightmare is gorgeous, the reviews of the S&W E 1911 SC are all goods... JP.

Sig Nightmare's are great, I regret selling mine, but plan to buy another. One of my Kimbers has a bob tailed frame, same style as the Sig, which I prefer over the DW style.

Sig 1911 Nightmare. :)
