Do not send by Xpresspost!
Xpedited, ground only with signature. (proof of delivery)
If somehow the package made it to the airport, it will be scanned.
The package would then be held and if nobody raised a royal stink, it may go on by ground, but usually, return to sender.
I once saw a handgun found in Xpresspost on it's way to Pearson Airport, next stop was Canada Post Corporate Security and then on to RCMP.
It may take a while.
There are a lot of delays that are caused by improper packing.
If the package opens up, it could be held for repairs, but not always.
If it's a quick tape job, on your way.
I deal with these all the time.
Just to give you some numbers, Canada Post here (Toronto) deals with about 30-40,000 packages each day from China.
Nation wide, there stats are pretty good for delivery compared to others.
