NEA in 7.62x39 - The Guinea Pig thread :)

Afaik currently all of NEA's bolts (556, 7.62X39) are being Ni plated. It would seem that when you read NEA's response to id64, what you heard is, "they are nickel plated so they are stronger". If you'd put your bias down for just a moment I think you'd realize that what they said is its a new and improved bolt and this new and improved bolt is now nickel plated.

Are you aware of what confirmation bias is? If not, I'd suggest you look it up.

They claim everything they make is "new and improved".. If they knew how to make a better bolt, why didn't they make it in the first place?

You kinda just glossed over the fact that you have such a hard on for NEA that your reading comprehension went right out the window. But never mind, you've trolled enough and I won't contribute to further derailing of the thread.
I'm very interested in how this "new and improved" bolt functions for id64, good or bad.

Everyone needs to realize that NEA uses or used metal of a lower grade in order to keep the prices low , but in turn there rep is going down the toilet.

That is a pretty bold statement. Can you confirm that or is that just your speculation? Seriously, if you are going to say something like that, I hope you have more than a hunch.

Do you work for NEA or ur just a belieber? Dude every gun shop ive been to recommended Norinco over NEa

Well if you get your gun advice from gun shops, I guess that says it all.
And no, I don't work for NEA. I've just paid attention to everything NEA-15 since the beginning. I slammed them when they were caught shilling, I've criticized them when they've let people down...I just have trouble sitting idle when I see BS being posted...maybe the same crap is fabricated against other manufacturers, I honestly don't know because I don't know them as well as I know NEA.

It's really a strange bit of baggage that follows NEA around. Sure enough they've earned some of it. But it is a bit weird really...I call it the NEA effect.

Consider this: ATRS, a very well respected canadian manufacturer just last week sent out hundreds of out of spec AR mags...this was after a delay of over a year from when these mags had been promised...and they said the delay was because their supplier was as exacting as they were. And yet they got out. ATRS is a stand-up outfit and they are looking after everyone who bought an out of spec mag from them...as they should...as NEA has done when stuff got out that shouldn't have. Yet can you imagine the flurry of comments from the usual suspects if NEA had been the one who had released the mags instead of ATRS? I can hear the cries of, "It's a bloody mag, how could you get something so simple so wrong?", "The spec has been known for decades, how could they let those get out", or mg2401's favourite, "Whoever let those mags out the door should lose his job! I work in metal fabrication and blah, blah, blah!"

My apologies to id64. I have trouble sitting on the sidelines when people start talking chit about something I know a bit about. It sucks that NEA were not as responsive as usual and were difficult for you to get ahold of...I was trying to get in touch with them this past week and had difficulty as well. Hope the new bolt IS improved. Please keep giving us the info, good bad or otherwise.

Runningfool despite the fact that gunshops told me not to buy one, I did anyways. At 200 rounds the forward assist broke and flew off, at 420 the bolt broke, its somewhere around 650 or so rounds I dont know what to expect next. The thing about atrs is that they came forward and told everyone to send their mags back. NEA never did that. Usually manufacturer runs multiple of the same machine to check for Quality so the costumer doesn't become a guinea pig. In NEA case we , the costumers are the guinea pigs

Man are you serious. If there bolts have been breaking , what does that tell you.

I'm dead serious. In a thread discussing a 7.62X39 bolt breaking you claimed that NEA used or uses inferior metals in order to sell rifles so cheaply! When I called you on it you started talking about the material their uppers and lowers and handguards are made of!

If their 7.62X39 bolts are breaking I would hazard a guess that it has nothing to do with the material the upper or lower is made of. Could be a design flaw, could be a material issue, could be a number of things - I certainly hope whatever the cause, it is addressed with the new and improved 7.62X39 bolt. Only time will tell.

Honest questions and I'm really not trying to be a troll or a prick:

NEA have been making AR15s for a couple years now. This has gone past 'growing pains' and 'new company issues'.

Why can NEA not get their $hit together?
Why are they still having problems with bolts breaking?
Why are guns going out with loose barrel nuts and loose barrel extensions?
Is the head of NEA having a hard time finding good/competent employees?
Are they at the mercy of sub-par suppliers at the cost of avoiding ITAR regulations?

These guns are supposedly being used by military and LE agencies. Are those guns being built to a better standard? (I would really hope so)

If you are going to make personal attacks. At least make some ATTEMPT to be accurate. I am a toolmaker. With that lack of precision are you SURE you don't work for NEA?. Toolmaking and metal fabrication are not even close to the same trade. Sort of like how NEA rifles are not even close to a quality product. As far as what you "know" about it is certainly not machining, production or Quality control. as for the pictures of your rifle after 10k rounds. the wear on the gas key and gas tube show a misalignment of the tube and key. Either the gas key is higher (taller) than it should be or the tube is lower that it should be. Lastly, i NEVER SAID ONE WORD about there being an issue with ATRS magazines. Is your position so weak that you must support it with lies?.
