I put 400 rnds .223 and 100 rnds of .45 LC , thought the pipes yesterday. Very clean powder , hardly any carbon buildup on either gun. Is this the same with other powders?

I've been using both as well. These powders are relatively cheap when you can find them and seem to work well. I've mostly used the CFE pistol and it is now my preferred powder for 9 mm. It is a ball powder that dispenses very well and as you've found, it burns very clean.

In my Glock 17 I seem to need loads at the top or slightly over the recommended range to get reliable function and PF - accurate though and no pressure signs.

Now the question is where to find more when my powder is gone.

it's very accurate for my guns. The CFE.223 is easy to find, the cfe pistol , not so easy.... I just found 2 lbs , thanks to a member posting on here. :)

I've had good results with CFE223 as well. I've heard (but haven't tried) that CFE Pistol is clean and consistentl.

Is the cafe pistol recommended for 45 ACP? Have been looking for a good clean powder, does the powder fill the case or come close to it? It helps prevent double charges.

.45 acp is listed on the bottle. Not sure what the data is though , but at 8.4 g it barely half filled my .45 LC case.image.jpg

Looking forward to try out CFE Pistol.
I put a 100 rnds of .45 LC through my uberti, when I hauled a patch through it ,I think it was even whiter than when it went in..:) both pistol and rifle powders are very clean, and accurate. My buddy also uses it for his 22 50 ,with great success.

No thanks, I don't feel like making their lives miserable fielding calls from guys all over Canada. Besides it only takes on guy to wipe out a stores stock these days.

I'm only kidding, but ya, the lack of powder is diving everyone to hoarding.

It's nothing personal, I have just grown extremely frustrated with the situation. I lost everything when my house burned and now I can't even find a single pound of my favorite powder because everyone and their ####ing dog is buying it all up whether they need it or not!

Ya , I hear ya , I'm new at it and it was a it frustrating at first, finding components and powder. You really have to search for it sometimes.
