After exchange, shipping and taxes it winds up being close to $600 Canadian... Get a nicer one off the EE for that, sorry!

What's a new 92FS go for, $799 + tax approx?

The 92S models that came into the states were selling for $259 - 299 US there. Those were the ones to jump on.

Where are these mint 92FS 'shipped to me for $600' hiding? I don't see any.

You'll see them show up for $650-700 shipped, usually with two or more mags, and in pristine shape.

The photo of the IRG offering shows a pistol that loons pretty thrashed to me... Lots of shiny bits where bluing should be, and USUALLY you take a photo of your best offering...

Just my opinion, but I'll spring the extra $100 for a nice one (or buy a new Girsan) before I lay the cake out for these "CIA buy backs"...

True words. These are used guns. Provenance adds nothing to the residual value in modern surplus IMO. If that gun was on the EE as a one owner pistol in that condition for the price these will be in your hands for, there would be a thread here laughing about it.

A guy has a 92S in the EE, asking $620 shipped. It has the holster and bluing wear similar to the surplus pistol.

Missed the boat on the $259-299 US 92S pistols, but when brought here, the price goes up anyway. Here's a US wholesaler who still has some:

Not worth it at that price and that condition.

I think you guys are right. I bought a brand new Sig SP2022 for $499 and it's awesome.

If these came in for $400 CDN they'd sell very well. At this price, not very many will buy. US funds, exchange rate and 2 shipping charges really kill the deal here.

I'm not a fan of used guns.. I think it's partly because I grew up in a poor family, so as an adult, I prefer my things be brand new. The only "Used" guns I want are ones given to me by family. My Fathers guns when he Died for example. My uncles as they slowly pass on. But BUYING used guns.. nope.
Now.. That said.. There are some OLD guns I'd buy if given the opportunity, but if I can buy it BNIB... I'll do that over a used one.

I'd jump at $400, just to have it - that's mucking about money.

I don't mind used guns but I tend to be careful about them. Even so there is the leap of faith aspect.

Take a look at the most recent picture posted in that thread- these guns are well-used, verging on abused. Asking price is too high, WITHOUT the exchange rate.

$259 US for a Beretta 92S in VG condition (video). This is really what the quest was in IRG section for a while, then the surplus 92FS came in without warning. I guess the 92S' were gone over at the Beretta factory then shipped to the States. The older Italian ones look better to me and sold out fast.

I bought a POS Tokarev for $200, I would have jumped on a 92S for $325 US or so. Of course, 28c on the dollar pretty well blows up the deal here.
