I have a Marlin GBL(1895) and a longer than normal eye relief scope. What I need is an extended or longer scope ring base to allow me to mount the scope further ahead. Anyone know of one I can use that is longer but will still allow me to utilize the open sights if needed? Make, model and or source of supply? Will greatly appreciate any suggestions and help.

Guess I was a little vague in my need explaination. The access to the open sights I had in mind would be by removing the rings from the base and the line of site to the open sights wuold be looking above that base the rings had been attached to. On the 1895GS I had that I gave my son and my 444S, I used a set of the Weaver Pivot mounts I believe you've mentioned. However, with this Marlin GBL in .45-70 I recently picked up, the scope that came with it is a long eye relief Hi-Lux2-7x32.
After a quick look, an XS Lever Rail with rear sight definately looks like it would fit with what I'm looking for. Oh, is there a Canadian outlet for XS Sight products that you're aware of?? Thanks again,
