Posted this in the optics forum but thought it would get more input in Red rifles section.
I'm thinking of picking up a scope for one of my svt's, It will see mostly range and general target shooting out to a few hundred yards (100-400yrd) depending on where I'm shooting. I'll be picking a mount up from Corwin, very nice aftermarket svt mount that they sell. I have one on my one svt already with a vomz 3.5x20, would like a bit more magnification for the next. Depending on how accurate it shoots it might see some hunting down the line, for now just target shooting/general fun.
I was looking at Corwins VOMZ P6x42 with A dragonov reticle, anyone have any other recommendations? I like the 3.5 I have and a russian optic on a red rifle just feels right lol.
Maybe a bushnell trophy 3-9x40? I'm not looking to break the bank and 3-9x is about as much magnification as I'll ever need out of a variable power, the 6x was about the max I think I'd need in a fixed power optic. Please feel free to comment, especially if you have a scoped svt40.
