abandoned bren carrier

BTW,if anybody is in NW Ontario there is an old carrier near Armstrong. Previous owner used it as a log skidder, apparently abandoned at least 40 years last time i was there

Is yours one of the 5 you dug up?

No, the one I got from that dig ended up going in the great divorce sale of 2001. It has changed hands a couple of times since, and as far as I know is sitll not quite done. Another of them went to the UK, but the third one got restored by one of the guys in the club who is in Winnipeg. I'll post a photo of it later this evening if I have time.

Yep, been up there about four or five times recovering carrier parts. There was the remnants of one in the town gravel pit, and we found remnants in the scrap car yard out side of town. The scrappers had been in by then, and we only found a few stowage boxes. The real find was 5 of them on the North Shore of one of the nearby lakes. We had to travel about 5 miles by boat to get to those ones. Lots of stories about them.
