Is it just me or does it seem these have been discontinued? What would the value of an "AS NEW" one be with a round count of 15

I knew how much if it were a number 1 (priceless)
But 20 bucks, holy frig Dude. Shouldn't a 77 be worth 77 times a 1 ?

The Ruger RSM has been discontinued in favor of the standard length Hawkeye African.

Is it the one with the sling swivel on a barrel band ahead of the forestock or through the forestock.

Value. $1800 as a minimum if it is truly in BNIB shape.

I have a RSM in 375 H&H. Its not BNIB condition, but not far off. I paid $1750 which I thought was fair. Id be willing to spend between $1800-2300 for a 458 Lott that was in similar or better condition than mine.

Hi,

My previous RSM in 458 Lott I sold for $2150 here on CGN about 2 years ago. It was in mint condition.

These Ruger rifles are very well respected in Southern Africa and will fetch up to R30 000 or more (about $3200CA). Any Ruger Safari Magnum in 458 Lott in excellent condition is worth at least $1900 or more, depending on the condition and figure of the wood. My present 458 Lott RSM has the best trigger I have had on any of my dangerous game rifles (9,3 x 62 and up), except perhaps the Tikka T3 I bought here in Canada. I think any person seriously interested in a good working 458 Lott for hunting and PH work, will pay even more than this. Obviously if you intend culling herds of elephant, you may want a rifle with a 5 shot magazine.

Both my 458 Lott Rugers had the barrel band sling ahead of the stock. My 375 H&H RSM had the barrel band for the sling through the stock.

They are a lot of rifle for the money, as Ardent said. I love my 416 Rigby and the only way I could be convinced to part with it was if I was replacing it with a pedigreed vintage rifle in the same chambering. No "416 Pretender" for me thank you, there is only one. $2K is a good price for one and I believe that the Lott was only chambered for a few years. Original lineup was the Holland and the Rigby. Later on they added the Lott. I saw one in a magazine that Hamilton Bowen opened up to the 505 Gibbs which would have been a real beauty. They have lots of weight for magnum chamberings and, if we're being fair, too much weight for the Holland. But they're built well with the right features and they will perform quite well, even when you stretch them out. I shot my Springbok at a lasered 287 meters with my Rigby and, predictably, it was bang-flop city. Held just under his chin and straight-lined through him, bow to stern.
