Ordering XP hammer springs and an STS (subtotal a few cents short of $50), so I figured if I'm ordering from them, maybe get something else while I'm at it as long as it's sub-$100 so I don't have to waste time on sending Sandy the form.

Some items that I don't need:
-Punches
-Front sight block or any gas block for that matter. Same goes for gas system parts
-Mags (they get held up at the border too long and I need my stuff quick)
-Receiver blocks and front sight pin block (already got'em)
-Muzzle devices (already well covered)
-Reloading tools/components

Possibilities:
-Tapco Armorer's tool? (I already got an NC Star in a trade waaaay before I bought my first AR and it's done a good job so far)
-A decent sling?
-??????

Open to suggestions.. Don't need any other actual PARTS for my AR (the build is complete), but anythign that can come in useful around one or some useful accessories... Thanks in advance, guys and gals :)

Sling. Hands down (cause you won't need to use them if you have a proper sling).

Won't be necessary for pretty much any of the games I'll be playing in the future, but it's definitely at the top of my list (assuming the Tapco armorer's tool can offer something the NC Star can't... Keep'em coming :)

AR small parts? Cam pin, gas rings, firing pin, trigger pin, firing pin retainer pin, C clip for dust cover, selector pin, crush washer, extractor.

Always good to save some spare parts for your AR.

Thanks.. Was considering someting in 2pt.. Any ideas? Yes, the hard limit is $500, but you still gotta complete the form if it's over $100... I think they just ship anything under $100

Yup. Sometimes it works out cheaper placing two sub-$100. orders and paying shipping 2x than one big order. Under $100. and it's roughly $11. shipping and no taxes (or very slim chance of it). Over $100. and your shipping goes up to $36. and you get dinged $10. Canada Post handling fee plus taxes.

How about go-no go gauge(s), Rocksett or anti-walk pins?

Good ideas... Thanks.. The rest I either have enough to last me until my temporary move to South America or wouldn't work on my 22lr upper and I have to leave the 223 upper behind (idiotic laws). I'll also look into some Shadow parts :)

Tools, Slings, Scope mounts etc are not counted towards the $100 limit. Only actual firearms parts.

Yeah, but once you cross the $100 total value, shipping rates can go up to $36.USD and then Canada Post charges you taxes and $11. handling fee. If I can break down my orders to three sub-$100 packages, I'd do that and pay shipping 3x and still be ahead than one single $300. order.

^ +1 on these items and I'll add in these as possiblities.

- KNS Anti-Rotation Pins
- Rear Take-Down & Pivot pin set
- Gas Tubes (I have spares of Pistol, Carbine, Mid & Rifle)
- Ambi Saftey or Mag controls (If your lower supports the latter)
- Trigger Springs
- Muzzle Shim Set
- Extractor upgrade set

.

The magpul ms3 is nice. Honestly IMO OSOE makes the best single point sling in the world. I have two and would buy more if I needed them.

I ended up getting in on a commercial order so I can have my springs (what i actually needed) without waiting forever and a half for customs clearance, but lets keep this going for posterity :) Thanks guys!

I just got in a three pack of extra power springs and three hammer pins, shipping was $10.95 US.

BTW if you need a spring in a hurry let me know, I'll give you one until yours arrive. Let me know.

I'm building my first AR15,

can someone school me on what I can order out of the states without ITAR paper work, or getting in a pile of ####.

I just ordered a seekins precision trigger gaurd and a spikes tactical trigger pin anti roll kit, but had them shipped to my U.S address. I figured it shouldn't be a problem to bring them back.

The short of it is, if you bring back those gun parts back from the US, if US border services asks you if you're bringing in gun parts, you'd better say yes. If you don't and they happen to find the parts, well you could find yourself in a US prison depending on how nice a mood your border agent happens to be in.

All gun parts with the exception of shotgun parts, are controlled by under ITAR which is regulated by the DoS. Even sneaking in a spring can brand you a felon. ONLY registered ITAR exporters and manufacturers can ship items outside of the US.

When ordering from Brownells, if you do a general search, on the left column, there is an filter for Available Outside the USA. This will show you the parts that can be exported outside the US. If you look up specific parts, in the Details tab of the item, it will say Not available for export outside the USA.
