Shorten PAL Approval Times

Timeline so far
App received Feb.12th
Online and payment charged March 9th (day 25) - indicated "information still required" which was my safety course results.
Called on March 10th, given fax# to send safety course copy.

Tried several times on March 11 and 12 to fax but something not working so I emailed a scanned PDF file.

They emailed back that they received the info and forwarded to appropriate dept for processing.

Online now indicates "application completed initial processing ..........."

Will wait till day 45 before calling again. PAL only

Just a few additions to my own timeline so far.

January 17 & 18 - Course done, marked and results in my hand
January 21 - Mailed application
January 29 - Application Received
February 18 - Application Online
February 24 - Cheque cashed

March 6 - Called them for first time, lady said they were just now ready for 1 reference to call in
March 9 - Reference called in
March 13 (Day 44) - License Issued: Was still in progress from Monday after reference called in, so decided to call them. The gentleman told me last update was waiting for scan, after confirming scan was done, he moved the file along and issued it.

Interesting, only called in 2 times, but it seems my file was moved along both times I called in, almost as if they moved it along because I called.

Issues last Saturday still waiting for mine to come in the mail!! Located in Ontario... Grrr this cash is burning a hole in my pocket lol

What's the exact role of the CFO in the application process?

Do they just sign off on it, or do they do all the background checks and what not?

Geeze, March 2nd they talked to my reference. Still no change online to my licence status. They received application on Dec 9th. This is taking forever, over 3 months now.

Here is to you becoming broke quickly as I have.

Ha! I'm usually broke at the best of times. Between having some money squirreled away from selling various unused things from other hobbies and a few bucks coming in from tax return, I'm probably set for a first purchase at least.
I'm looking at varmint/precision/long-range target rifles for a second purchase though, and damn, do I see some overtime work in my future...lol
