Yes, even the wood is H&R. The barrel is dated July 1954, but the serial number range places the receiver in the first batch of Garands that H&R delivered during the Korean war.

If you hate me now.... i question if I should take a picture of my H&R M1 beside my Springfield M1C with M82 and my Springfield 1952 MC1 USMC with 4x Kollmorgan.... I could even add in 4 1903 Springfields just to be a disturber!

Have you guys seen the AG Composites carbon fiber M1A stock?? Pricey, but looks sweet, and it can be had with a hydro-dipped camo pattern of your choice!

Like I said, 'the other room", that being the spare bedroom (Yeah, right, if anyone spends the night at my place, either HE is sleeping on the couch or floor, OR she is sleeping in my bed).

And believe me, the moaning from the other room "You never shoot me, you are always working" keeps me awake from time to time!

Thanks H2Oman. I have been off an on been trying to work a deal on an H&R M14E2 that a friend owns, he is wanting to sell it, but he can't make his mind up on price. if he ever does, I'll throw money at him, pull the H&R receiver off (Welcome to the Social workers paradise Canukistan where I am not sane enough to own a USGI M14 but I am sane enough to own a Springfield M1A)
