I bought a Fobus holster, every one point and laugh at me.

I wanted a basic holster, nothing high speed, just for general range use, so I tossed in one of the Fobus paddle holsters on an order of mags. I figured the price is right and it's pretty hard to screw up a paddle holster.

Wow, do I regret this. Quality seems decent enough, nice metal rivets. It's no Blade Tech though, that's for sure. I'll give Fobus credit on one point, they wanted to make a holster with weapon retention and they got that part right. Too right. You cannot reliably draw the firearm from the holster. It wll not come out. I watched all sorts of videos and read up on how to "properly" use this thing. I actually had to learn how to use a hoslter, good grief.

"Pull quickly, snap it out with authority, use a good belt". I did all these things but all I accomplished was consistent wedgies. I stopped trying when I started seeing recommendations to oil the damn thing. No. No I will not do this. Sadly, this is when I decided to check CGN, not before buying.

In the end, I took a pencil torch heat blower and reformed the platic around the trigger guard retention to open it up. It wasn't a small amount, either. Now the firearm is held very well but I can actually take the damn thing out. Even after opening it up by 1/4" it will still hang up the odd time.

In summary, don't buy Fobus. Order yourself a Blade Tech, or anything else really.

On that note I have had 3 blade tech that did not fit.
Iwast told needs braking in..
I was told somthing wrrong with it..
Yes sure my glock with TL1 light has somthing wrong with it..
$119 down the shi##er.
Got a raven and also made my own.

A good holster is worth is value but has no resale value.

I made the same mistake as you a few years ago. They are sitting in a box somewhere in my storage unit, I won't bother trying to sell them.

A little oil in the holster may have worked.

I had to do this with a Bladetech after trying to loosen the tension screw. Oddly enough it worked. That was several thousand draw strokes ago, I haven't had to lube it up again.

I bought a couple of Uncle Mike's belt holsters last year, one for a 1911 and the other for a Ruger Blackhawk 6 1/2".

Neither fits right at ALL, and I triple checked the model numbers both before AND after.

Might be okay for a couple of air CO2 pistols I have, even those are tighter than hell.

Burn.....

I played with a whole bunch of Fobus holsters at SHOT. For an Israeli made product, they are surprisingly bad! I think they had only one holster that I may have thought about using.
I actually like Serpa holsters! Never had an issue but just me!
For leather, Alessi, ,DeSantis, Milt Sparks and Galco.
Just ordered my first Solely Canadian holsters from Tim. Should arrive next week!! Hope they live up to the hype!
