Tangent Theta Wait Time?

I am wondering who has put an order in for Tangent Theta Optics?

What I would like to know is what time line were you quoted?

If you have received your optic how long did it take?

If you haven't received it yet how long have you been waiting?

I really don't want to start a rant type of thread I'm really just interested in the facts! Reason being that I want to buy one but I also want to know what kind of timeline I'm looking at.

Thanks in advance.

Yep, I agree. The worst part about waiting is not knowing. Be it by not being informed, or simply by being in a position to not know what takes long in a process. At least a thread like this will serve a purpose of waiting together versus waiting alone. And if any manufacturer or distributor feels as if they're not being fairly represented by any rant which appears. They'll at least be able to address it and we'll all be that much more informed.

So, in that spirit. Here goes.

I ordered a TT315M on the 19th of November.

Received an email from the Director, Sales & Business Development at Armament Technology today stating: "Our products are very slowly being released, and sorry to say it would be several more months before we will have stock to satisfy your order."

Still patiently waiting...

So you've waited since November and are now being told it'll be a couple more months? I wonder if they are ramping up production, say if they quote me 90 days am I going to get mine shortly after or I wonder if they quote me 90 days am I going to be told after 90 days that it's going to be another 60 or 90 days?

I actually placed my order last week, paid in full for a 5-25 and I'm currently waiting for my time frame. I have been notified that if the timeframe doesn't suit my needs I can get a full refund. I'm just wondering if my quote is going to be accurate or if it's going to be one of those we think it'll be 90 days but you better expect to wait double that time?

I don't know about current lead times but I do I know they've been working really hard and they appreciate everyone's patience.
Delays were really due to their dedication to making sure its a well tested scope before it was to go to end users, production units started going out a few weeks ago as far as I know and I can only assume production will keep ramping up.

There's a pretty amazing amount of work and parts that go into building a scope of this quality, really nice piece of engineering and machining.

True. In for a penny, in for a pound. I certainly wouldn't want production to be compromised by cutting any corners in haste. Just anxious, and would like to be kept informed. Knowing is worth so much...

Unless you believe the proverb :
If knowledge is power; information shared is power lost?

I think hands down this is the scope for me and I really don't want to settle on anything else as I know down the road I would regret it. Just getting a feel for what I should expect.

With the dollar crashing and Nightforce and the Gen II climbing, the Tangent is getting closer in price, if there price was a little lower I think they could of made a much larger dent in the Canadian market. I wonder if there prices have been dropping in the States

I placed my order at the end of February and was told "about 2 months to get, give or take"

I'm not too concerned, as I don't have the rifle (yet) that it's going on. I can be patient for this.....

I know that the GenII Razor is going at about $3400 right now and I assume the NF 5-25x56 F1 will be very similar. What kind of prices are the TT scopes going for now. Just reading about them on Snipershide makes it sound like they are going to be the best scope out there. Everyone seems to love Premiers and TT bought them out.

For the 5-25 with tax it's about $4500. I wonder what's going to happen as they ramp up production and the demand starts to increase? Could go up, could go down, who knows?

Ouch... thats still a bit of a jump up in price for me to consider one. I started looking at the GenII when it was similar in price to the USA, go to Wholesale and see all Vortex optics jumped like 30% in price due to the dollar. That hurt. especially when I was starting to seriously look at buying one.

I'm sure glad I bought my Razor 10x42 binos last year before the price jump.

I don't think anybody should get too excited thinking prices will be coming down.. if anything, they will be going UP

Doesn't matter what part of the shooting industry you look at, be it for brass, bullets, powder, optics or whatever... the prices are steadily climbing. That isn't going to change.. many many things at play driving that. Tangent has seen some manufacturing delays and is actually seeing greater than expected demand for their "coming" optics, the prices offered right now (especially pre-order prices) are likely going to be the lowest they will EVER be offered at. I too agree waiting sucks, and it's tough to not ask for refunds, but bottom line (in my opinion) is: will you be willing to pay an additional premium for one once full production starts and the manufacturing delays & such are later pencilled-in to a price at that-time? Which is completely possible.

Look at the prices on NF new ATACR F1's... for one good example. I'm sure I saw over $4000 for one of them last-night when I was searching around for pricing. I think the price Tangents are priced at are a price that's bound to increase.. I don't think for a second that the guys who have their's in-hand one year from now will regret paying the introductory price... it'll probably be an optic that will likely "appreciate" in value sooner than it ever will "de-preciate" This is my opinion. I can't hardly wait to see these things available.

They are shipping....

ScottnotianSergeantRating:#3.0/5 this site453#posts this siteTangent Theta... some awesome sauce and echoes of the pastTuesday at 6:45 PMSo I just received my 5-25 G2XR TT. #Firstly, thanks to Greg at#PrimalRights.com, a gent and someone very enjoyable to speak with on these matters.Opening the very well presented box I had a sense of deja vu of when I opened my first Premier scope many years ago... it's a beast. A proper beast. Similarly, the diopter lock was gorilla tight, but once loosened, it all became Tangent Theta. #The turrets are clear, crisp ALIGNED TO THAT THINGY ON THE SCOPE BODY that caused so many online aneurysms from Greg's prototype version...On visual inspection, it's a well built product. #I've only hand held it and peered through it momentarily before it had to be put away but looking at the G2XR reticle it was a sense of relief. Clean, clear, continuos cross hairs. No gaps, blips, squiggles. #Just a simple, reticle with a right amount of Season's Greetings (Xmas tree). On first glance, the eye box was not Hensoldt nice, but then, nothing is. However, putting myself behind a Kahles 624i Gen3 neither is that. #Given what I've experienced so far, I'm happy with the TT, especially with the reticle.Optically, this thing is BRIGHT. wow. I've not dialed in the diopter properly so can't comment on resolution, but boy can it peer into the shadows.#My DTA's being worked on for a couple of things so the field report will have to wait but I'm eager to get cranking on the turrets for dope and testing and play with that zero-stop. #I should have a .308 in a 16" and 6.5CM in 26" to go from one to the other and we'll see how I get along with my optic equivalent of Rolls Royce.

I got a Premiere and if the TT's are the same you'll be extremely happy with them. In general optics have gotten ridiculously expensive, but why wouldn't they since people keep paying.
