DA50 .50BMG upper!!!???

Dude he was at CanAm today picking the prototype up to shoot it so I can tell you it's a pretty solid statement.

I never doubt " The sledgehammer of reason "

Thanks.
One minor item...
I didn't get "the prototype ".
I got one of fifty production pieces.

50 BMG is over rated unless your independently wealthy! It's like throwing $5 bills down range with the added bonus of pissing everyone on the firing line off! Been there, done that. If you ask me best bang for the buck is still 308. If 800 yards isn't enough I don't know what is?

This has to be an extended April Fools joke... even if its single shot, a .50 AND being able to do load development for a AR upper (that has a 18.5"+ barrel) off the back deck... oh my..

Can you afford $2.50 a shot? That's what it costs me to reload ball ammo for my 50 BMG

Just because it's the bigger cartridge doesn't mean it's more pressure.

A .50 bmg is ~54,800 psi
A .338 lm is ~60,900 psi

Some random rounds that are in the 63,000 and up max PSI range:
6mm Remington
.22-250 Remington
.25-06 Remington
.270 Remington
7mm Magnums
300 Magnums
338 Magnums

These are all firearm calibers I see being used safely each hunting season: if the firearm is good, if the rounds are loaded right, then it won't be a problem. :yingyang:

Why is there always one guy to piss on everyone's fun?

Close up of the bolt. It needs to be disassembled to insert into upper.
Head goes into the ejection port, bolt body from rear, then handle threads into side to lock it together.

Altered hammer and heavier spring. The standard hammer needs to be swapped out as there is an interference fit with the bolt.
Harder primers need a stronger spring.
The hard plastic cap goes over the back of the bolt body, to protect buttstock.

The HOD needs to be removed as well.

Seriously? This is the first day I've been back to work in 3.5 months. And you come out with this? Now how the heck am I supposed to pay off my Visa?
