"The 9mm Alfa and the Very Bad Day"

It shot off in the direction of a big stack of open topped boxes full of stuff. It could be in a box, between the boxes or bounced off and gone behind the shelving unit. I'm classifying it as "gone".

Not a bad idea. If I don't get anywhere with Blue Line maybe I'll bring it to the club and we can figure out what's missing with the help of the exploded parts diagram in the manual. if nothing else that would at least tell me what I'm looking for.

I think you'll find Blue Line very helpful. They sent me a complete slide for my GSG 1911 a while back after a e-mailed them a pic of some wear in the notch.I only had a rough copy of the original receipt to show them..Excellent service...

I usually find the piece a day after ordering a replacement... go figure:rolleyes: I have noticed that anything that pings off 3 walls is gone for ever:eek: One or two walls indicates a chance of recovery:)

Sadly i'm too deaf to even hear the pings anymore, so I don't even get a clue unless i see the launch. My fav was watching a small spring disappear into a 5 gallon pail of 38 spl brass sitting beside my work bench....didn't even bother looking for that one, just logged onto brownell's and ordered...

Did the same with an Alpha project 22lr.
I had bought this from CandaAmmo I think but the warranty in Canada is with blue line solutions h ttp://blsolutions.ca .
Sent them an email with details of the problem, even admitted it was my fault and they sent me the missing spring within a week no charge.

Great service !

I'm sorry but that got me laughing. But in sympathy because I could see it happening to me as well.....

As Harry Calahan said "A man's got to know his limits".... :D

I had a spring take off on my one time as well, I had to search through a dozen boxes full of kids clothes, but eventually found it. Took 1 hour. lol

Just got an email back from Blue Line. If I send them the gun they will reassemble it, replace any missing parts and only charge me the gunsmith's time. Seems more than fair to me. The only downside is being without it for such a long time while Canada Post dawdles their way to the west coast and back.......Such a PITA that you can't ship guns overnight via Fedex.

I was cleaning an old Italian starter pistol that had a square mag that inserted into the back of where the barrel would be and worked it way out the front of the barrel when fired. A detent ball flew - hit the floor and bounced once - that got the attention of my yellow Lab - The Lab promptly found the ball that was half the size of a BB and ate it - I just packed the starter pistol back up and declared defeat!

ROFLMAO Gotta love labs and their willingness to ingest ANYTHING a human drops.

I`ve been lucky so far, only lost one small pin, and was easy enough to make another one from piano wire. Still really liking my 9261, just been spending more time with my GP X-Caliburs practicing for the upcoming IPSC season :)

...even my wife and kids draw the line here.

Lay out all the parts, take a pic and post it. Chances are you will find someone here that will tell you what you are missing.

And blue line isn't the best for communications, but I have always been very happy with their service!

I think the OP's experience resonates with just about everyone on this board. I've got several firearms that I've lost interest in shooting due to similar circumstances. I can't be bothered going to the trouble of sending them away for serice. At least one of mine, a 9mm JR Carbine, is unfired after having owned it for over (2) years now.

For future reference, find a company that deals in abatement and removal supplies and see if you can purchase a "glove bag". there are two gloves built into it and you place the gun inside with some tools, zip it up and take it apart without the risk of anything taking off. BTW the bags are really heavy duty clear plastic so you can see what you are doing.

....that has to be the best idea yet! No idea why it didn't twig to me when I had to do asbestos training a few years ago.

Acklands Granger, perhaps? They sell darn near everything else.
