First Shotgun Hatsan MPA Tactical Camo Semi Auto Shotgun

I have a Black MPA. Cycles everything I've put in it. 3" Magnum slugs, buck shot, 2 3/4" #8 target loads. It functions flawlessly. I've shot trap with it as well. Great gun.

there are no longer barrels available for the Hatsan shotgun you have. the issue lies with the fact that the defender/tactical style shotguns they make have different barrel lug location that on their hunting style shotguns. as a result, they're not interchangeable.

damn..

im curious to see how it will pattern and whether it will be good for hunting and competition shooting.. :) i expect to get it tomorrow in the mail based on the CP tracking status.

got the shotgun last night.. i opened it up, for a 400$ semi auto shotgun its pretty decent, the only thing im concerned about is theres rust on top of the bolt. i didnt have time last night to take it apart and degrease/clean it. ill take pictures of it tonight and put them up here.

turns out it was just surface rust ( dust more like it), came off with a bit of solvent and patches. broke in the gun with about 50 rounds of 2-3/4 and 3 inch magnum slugs.. gonna take it apart and clean it and do another 50-60 in a few days.. then see how it runs target loads.

I've had a black one for over a year. I find length of pull is a little long but might try to get a non-pistol grip stock for it. To be fair the only shells I've had issues with are the zinc plated steel headed winchester, the steel just doesn't contract down quick enough to give it a nice extraction IMO. Light loads in brass headed shells worked fine.

I did also polish the mag tube where the gas piston rides hoping this would get the cheapy shells to work but this didn't help. So if I'm messing around on the range I shoot whatever, if I'm in a competition or on the clock, I pony up the extra buck and get better ammo.

what do you use for competition?

The cheapest shells I can find with brass heads. I usually just buy from what the trap club is selling as it's right there and not a bad price. I did manage to find a shell and Challenger First class Target loads 1 1/8 oz loads run well in my gun.

cool ,i have a friend that works in SAIL and he gets ammo at cost, so i can get him to get me a bulk pack or two of the challenger target loads.
