Powder Coat Lead Cast Bullets

Not wanting to take this thread sideways, but how do you open up the sizing die?? Emery paper on a mandrel??
Thanks,

I used a wooden dowel close to the size of the sizing die then wrap some blue paper towel and then some 500grit sand paper. I put that in my drill press and run the sizing die up and down for 10 seconds or so at a time, size and check the bullet to see how it progresses. Then I'll up the grit to 1000 or use polishing compound.

One more question............someone mentioned "no stick" foil in a previous thread. WalMart didn't know what I was talking about.
Where are you getting yours? Other options?
Thanks,
Mike

If you dont have drill press then try this method

I used 200grit paper and then 600grit to finish , took about 30 min.

go to dollar store and get non stick pan to fit your toaster oven for around $4

Hard to find and nobody knew what I was talking about. Found some at London Drugs, its by Alcan called SLIDE Heavy Duty non stick aluminum foil 30 ' . Hope this helps !

Did they get back to you?
No email back but just got of the phone with them.

1. use emeraldcoatings website not powder365 as its more up to date.
2. traffic red is NOT tgic free as it states on powder365.
3. Powders stated as tgic free on emerald are 100% tgic free, i am told.
4. tool blue doesn’t say tgic or tgic free but is tgic free according to emerald as they checked the box.

Just a quick update. I ordered tool blue from emerald coatings and the bag inside with the blue powder in it had a card attached that said powder365 on it along with the coating info. guess emerald gets their powder from 365.

Well add me to the list of believers. I've never done this before and first try worked out excellent.

Thrift store toaster oven, crappy tire bbs, number 5 plastic container, tool blue powder coat and my new 461-400BG Accurate mold. Baked for 10 mins, passed the smash test and I even resized one from .464 (after powder coat) down to .457 and no paint came off so good to go. Will size them to .459 and .460 and see how they shoot.
