Colt Gold Cup... Top tier 1911... Videos up.

The GT6-45 is the nuts - very classy and superb (fully adjustable) trigger and fully adjustable target sights, a class above a 1911. I put a Rink grip on mine - kicks it up another level. i had a trigger job on my GCT and it was still variable and decided I didn't want to throw any more $$ at it and went to a GT6 - I never looked back.

I think the 1911 was designed around 1902(ish) (adopted by the Army in 1911 - experts please chime in) - the design shows it's age - the Pardini is probably 10 years old or so and the mechanism is thoroughly modern, for instance the trigger group drops out intact and field stripping is delightfully smooth.

The 1911 & S&W models 42 & 52 are very skinny and a high sightbase when compared with modern (target) pistols - the GT6-45 sits well with Walter SSPs and Pardini HPs

You can easily find the Canadian dealer - search for Western Marksman - if you would like more info - please PM me.

thanks. pm coming

Tomorrow at the range, the battle of the Glocks... G21 VS G22... JP.

that's my kind of battle LOL!! oh my...true, there's no possible battle there, they all shoot so accurately haha!

however, i might pull the trigger on the new STI limited pretty soon. that one is exactly the good value i was waiting for. not that SVI's don't worth what they sell for, but the sti could be the steel deal .

if this one worth it's salt, it might becomes the best value for gamers in the standard class. many top shooters across north america uses sti's pimped with sv's internals. brazo, akai and couple other custom builders uses sti frames and barrels.

x2 some of the comp guns are just a little to super-fly for me. no doubt they are awesome though

I think the Colt 1911's are great value for the money. Still waiting to try out my Combat Elite after the 24th. I am getting a little tired of the sticker prices constantly creeping upwards in the 1911 platform, especially now with the disparity between the CAD and USD. I just don't see the value in the high priced custom 1911's anymore and it is getting quite ridiculous. I will purchase one custom eventually just to have one, perhaps a Wilson Combat. It may be a Tactical Elite just to satisfy my curiosity. Why spend so much when you can get such great value out of Sig, DW or Colt? You could buy a DW Guardian, and a Smith and Wesson PC 1911 for the price of just one Wilson Combat. Until my curiosity is satisfied for a custom gun I will be forever wanting!

As always, thanks for posting JP, and I look forward to your comparisons.

One thing is sure, this Colt Gold Cup is a sub 2K 1911 and it perform almost on par with my LB at least at 17 yards... I was shocked to see how precise it was, i will order another Colt, possibly a 1991 AI Classic for my herd... JP.

I have a Colt GCT and they are more accurate than that. Caramel, your just a lousy shot (sorry had to throw that in). Laugh2 These things are tack drivers. By the way, congrats on the new gun. Get the blued Colt GCNM if you can find one to go with the stainless one.

Haha. The problem with 1911's is that they are the ###iest handgun out there, aesthetically pleasing and fun to shoot. It is a quick way to get addicted to growing your handgun collection. Here is my "go-to" page to drool over when I am deep in thought over the nest 1911. I sold two but recently bought two more, but quickly see this become a lifelong obsession.

Warning: Two pages of heaven on earth for those who haven't visited!

Learning as fast as i can... JP.:)

I sold a BNIB GCT to a fellow Gunnut here and here's what he had to say:

"The gun is perfect and shoots like a dream. I think it comes with the 16 lb spring so I will swap it out for the 13lb target load spring tonight. But overal...could not be happier....I am the envy of all the guys at the club...they all just want to fondle the gun...it cracks me up!"

Yes, they are georgeous 1911's. Still have a BNIB one in the safe. Just keep throwing the lead down range JP. :) Does yours work with both the 7 and 8 rd mags?
