The GT6-45 is the nuts - very classy and superb (fully adjustable) trigger and fully adjustable target sights, a class above a 1911. I put a Rink grip on mine - kicks it up another level. i had a trigger job on my GCT and it was still variable and decided I didn't want to throw any more $$ at it and went to a GT6 - I never looked back.
I think the 1911 was designed around 1902(ish) (adopted by the Army in 1911 - experts please chime in) - the design shows it's age - the Pardini is probably 10 years old or so and the mechanism is thoroughly modern, for instance the trigger group drops out intact and field stripping is delightfully smooth.
The 1911 & S&W models 42 & 52 are very skinny and a high sightbase when compared with modern (target) pistols - the GT6-45 sits well with Walter SSPs and Pardini HPs

These things are tack drivers. By the way, congrats on the new gun. Get the blued Colt GCNM if you can find one to go with the stainless one.
