Recomendations for short-barrelled shotgun

I'm another vote for the short Dominion or Norc 870 clone. Quality is equal (or better) to the current production Rem Express models IMHO but price is better. Polish the chamber, replace the follower and you've got an affordable and reliable shotgun. I'm running the 12.5" and I really like it. Small and balanced enough that if needed I can carry it one handed, by my side comfortably. Allowing me to have a backpack on and carry something in the other hand while still having the gun "at the ready". I'm considering gearing up a single point sling set up that will work when I have a pack on.

You said $500 around....??? Spend an extra couple hundred for $749.00 NIB for Ellwood Epps you can have the best compact pump gun on the face of this planet.....a Mossberg M590A1 with factory 14" Bbl, super-accurate Ghost Ring Sights, Speed Feed stock (4 extra shells) and 5+1 capacity with 2 3/4" Magnum, 00 Buckshot - 12 copper plated pellets @ 1290 FPS . That 14" compact 12 Gauge beast holds 10 shots...5+1 and 4 in the SpeedFeed stock.

IMHO, the combat proven M590A1 with smoke any standard 870 at same price point ...hands down. The Mossy 590 had dual extractors and an aggressive ejector.....reliability written all over it.

I would trust my Mossberg M590A1 14" Compact with my life....and would feel confident in the bush (with an M-14 with 20 round hi cap mag, slung over my back).

Get a NIB Mossberg 14" Compact....you won't be sorry.
