Cabela's Winnipeg has lots of .22 LR

They have also got a LOT of CCI. And it is selling fast.

I bought way too much actually. Around 1600 rounds in the past two days from there.
(I got 1000 stingers and 600 minimags...there is a 2 box limit on bulk packs.)

We have none at home in Ontario so it is all going back on the plane with me on friday....sorry locals, I've got hungry rifles to feed.

The guys behind the counter told me they are a bit shocked as to how much CCI they got on the last truck, and that what they had on display was it for the foreseeable future.

Gouging! Basspro, Sail, Le Baron, Crappy Tire has better pricing. But wait, if you need them and nobody has them, then you do not have a choice.

Lots of .22 LR at Cabela's Winnipeg this morning. But it's not cheap.

Winchester 555 box - $44.95 - a few of these left.

Winchester 222 box - can't remember price, a few left.

Wood box packaged Cabela's special - 500 rounds Winchester Super X - $49.95. (Lots of these on the shelf). Nice presentation, but...

So if you're in Winnipeg and desperate, there ya' go.

Cheers!

I just stopped at the Brandon Canadian Tire today and they are now selling guns and expanded the ammo dept with lots of 22 ammo available. There must be 30 feet of display cases, not full but saw brownings, savages, henrys, sks, mosin, Mossberg and norinco shotguns. Carrying pistol ammo, Russian surplus and more rifle and shotgun ammo variety.

Anyone near the BassPro in the GTA ..... they have the little plastic ammo cans of 16 x 100 rounds CCI minimags for $120 + tax. Only 6 left as of an hour ago! Good deal anymore these days!

Need a plain ol ammo shop in wpg!

Ain't that the truth. A real gun store with knowledgable people who can help you out and get you something other than Cabela's knock-off version of X. (Although, to be fair, at least no one at Cabela's has ever asked me if the .17 HMR ammo I was buying was for a muzzleloader, like the guy at CT did last week).

Maybe we could convince Prophet River or a similar business to expand out to Winnipeg :)

I would love to start one myself, but it could be very problematic. There seems to be a pecking order among retailers, whereby certain ones get stock and some don't. It seems to me that the new guys would be left out in the cold...........and no stock means no cash flow, which means you close the doors after 3 weeks :(
